House of Light

Updated on July 13, 2013

If you really think about it, your heart is a lighthouse

One person lives in it

Deciding where to point the glow

So others are safe amongst

The darkness of unknown shores and

Rocky coasts that could

Be too much for other wondering souls

But like a lighthouse next to the sea

Shining for those who need it

Somehow it isn’t enough to

Be remembered and loved

For saving a life by giving your own

And the man in the lighthouse is

Forgotten and left to find sanctuary

In his own heart

For the rest of his life

Enjoyed the thought much. The heart is like a lighthouse. Love this imagery.

Profound piece Daniel. Sacrificing the spotlight from yourself so that it might be a beacon for others. The ultimate in humility. Great work and voting up.

You have an S.O.S signal you could flash. How does one know which ship would sail in, wondering what was happening to the man? There's a house to be found miles from the nearest neighborhood.

Sometimes you have to help yourself. You can't sit and wait to be noticed, you have to say, "Hello, I'm here and I could use a little saving myself now."
