How Could I Help

Updated on May 20, 2011

I received a cry for help last night

Telling me that nothing was right

I asked what was wrong and how I could assist

What was the issue and what did it consist

He replied “I feel so broken I don’t know what to do”

“How do I let go I haven’t got a clue”

I tapped the keyboard on my phone

And replied “don’t worry I’m here you’re not alone”

A broken heart he carries with sadness and pain

A stroll down that empty and lonely lane

Hurting from the core where everything feels numb

Beating once or twice on his little boy drum

Paragraphs explaining what the problem was

Trying to figure out the break ups probable cause

In turn I told him time has to travel

Give it patience and let the hurt unravel

I’ve seen this happen once too many times

I always turn to say that cheating should be a crime

Insecurities are the worst to develop between the two

Do not over stuff your mouth for it is too much to chew

It boils down to only one thing that many lack

That they choose to chew another snack

Trust and loyalty is hard to find in this day and age

Many have decided to write on another’s page

I see him crying out for a thought on what to do

I told him what I thought and points of views

I hope things work out for him and all that comes his way

I said what a friend should and set him to a better day

Time will heal his broken heart. It is so sad that people find honor in taking what does not belong to them. Woe to those who steal other people's happiness. Thanks for this poem

I told him , time has to travel... a brilliant line, please I beg you Bella, you don't need to rhyme...

If I could stand in the shriven place,

impart to you the years of cautious pain,

I would say, take shackles of iron,

      break them clean thru,

break every thing that does not serve,

      your greatest and highest good.

      Love yaz, baby...lily

When one is hurting, it is nice to know you have a friend. A friend is sometimes one's only lifeline to an otherwise painful walk in despair. I am not surprised you were there for your friend in his time of need, bella. Sometimes in reaching out to others, while having been there once ourselves, it helps heal even our own soul. It moves us beyond ourselves when thinking of others. Loved your poem! You have a thoughtful heart! : )

You were there for a Friend Bella and that's what truly counts...Tomorrow can be a better day, sometimes we need a friend to help us through the dark lonely night...You expressed the Heartache of this so well in your Poem.

      Excellent work as always.

It's rather telling and depressing that so much of today's youth is all about doom and gloom, rather than the laughter and fun of generations past.

I hope that pendulum swings back the other way, and soon.

Bell, It's good that he had you to turn to in need. I love your use of the word chew, sometimes we can say too much, then sometimes not enough. I've been in this situation and i'm afraid i agreed too much once. Loved your poetry again.

      Cheers

Marellen, It is difficult and hard to trust when you have been down that road before but you have to want to make things right the second time around if you are given an opportunity why screw it up a second time to possibly lead to a third time thanks for reading!!

      smiles :)

I agree that finding someone you can trust has always been difficult for me in relationships. Time does heal but having friends and family close is always great. Who doesn't need a hug.

      Really great hub...
