How Far Can You Stretch The Truth Without Telling A Lie

Updated on July 12, 2012

A Fine Line We Talk

When something happens right before our eyes

We see it and we implant it in our thoughts instantly

Then at a later date we retell the story of that day

Where we begin and where we end is solely up to our discretion

How much really happened ?

Did we ebellish the truth just a bit ?

Do we do it for affect or to gain attention ?

Who else was there to tell us any different ?

Was the story real ?

Was it just as good or did we give it our own spin ?

Did we miss the facts and just remember our version in our heads ?

Either way stories are told and repeated so many times

They are good for a laugh or a chuckle

As long as you don't mention anyone by name

You don't have to worry about being hit with brass nuckles

raciniwa Words and writings are so much fun.We can make anything happen.Just use our imagination and turn on love and everything in life we adore. Then each word can express so much more.We become the explorer forever searching for a new land and new customs and new people.Thanx so much for reading.

kj force I guess that's how a writer can see and feel and make everything come alive.Only later to see how each reader is affected by the words that are written.Thanx so much and I have just begun to scratch the surface what lies underneath is so deep it has never seen the light of day.At least in my mind anyway.

It's all about perception...everyone tells an incident differently...some are more descriptive, painting pictures with their words..while other use just words.

Writers are very guilty of what you described...well written..insightful

I've known people who lie so much, they really believe the lies! I guess we are all guilty of telling little white lies.

Great poem about something I guess we all do!

      I voted this UP, etc.etc.

Lol, this is true, one of my cousins that can't seem to tell the truth to save her life we call a perpetual liar, but my aunt that stretches the truth we call her the embellish queen! She just has to juice the story up to have everyone in stitches. Mom used to say she colorfully paints the truth! It's all about their perception and their truth, which could be different from yours. Nice hub.
