How My Husband and I Met
I remember the day I met you during karaoke at the Ramada Inn.
I was there with my good friend.
You said, "you have some pretty little toes."
Why I fell for that nobody knows.
Your hair was long and I hated that on a man.
But then we talked and you touched my hand.
We exchanged phone numbers and went our separate ways.
You didn't call me for a few days.
My mind started to race.
All I could do was see your handsome face.
Was it love at first sight?
I don't know, because I had too much to drink that night.
But you finally called and delighted me with your sweet words.
And my emotions started to fly, I was soaring with the birds.
Then we went on our first date.
I was suprised because you were not late.
We went out dancing and had a lot of fun.
That's when our love affair first begun.
I remember the first time I said, "I love you."
You replied, "I strongly like you too."
But then on you I started to grow.
Six months later you popped the question and I said, whoa!"
We eloped and nobody knew.
When we told our families they were so ticked they didn't know what to do.
My mom slammed the door and the door knob hit you on the butt.
I started crying and your told me you loved me no matter what.
Here we are 13 years later.
And our love for each other is still growing greater and greater.
