How can Writing Affect you Mentally
Writing Affects the Mind
Mentally, writing is of great benefit to many writers.
You can express your words freely, and you know exactly what is needed to feel better again.
Sometimes the bad past experiences are better left not spoken. Spoken too often of can hurt some individuals.
Writing down such thoughts can make you feel most free and happy with yourself.
My life changed in many ways and in writing the many hubs writing has given me more light than darkness in my thoughts.
I write to express my feelings and give to you an idea about my challenging life.
I feel great and happy. Releasing the tension of my intense feelings of my new experiences has made me feel that way.
Many individuals need to have simple ways to improve their mental health. Daily laughter and fun is a good idea.
The main focus of any individual should be happiness, once they ignore positive thoughts life could be tough, and sad.
The daily practice of writing can draw you out of that dark place.
Expressing your words strongly with a positive mind can sometimes be the only option to survive in another place.
Some people marry for the Green card or for money.
When you marry for love you feel happy and less-stressed.
The thing about life you don't get many choices when you are feeling negative. Writing makes you feel open-minded than closed minded
You can accomplish your writing goals with merit if you practice the daily tricks.
Think carefully of what has made you angry or frustrated. Write it down immediately. Emotionally, writing can get you out of bad situations.
I know from my personal experiences that writing has allowed me to be a different person.
Writing down what bothers you does not always work out well for everyone.
I did what I knew would work for me, and thus far writing has worked wonderfully for me.
I write down what hurts me and what makes me most unhappy. Also, of what makes me lonely. Slowly all the information is forming into a full manuscript.
A fully detailed novel and I as yet don't know what to name this novel.
-
With my expressions come my daily experiences.
Every thought that I feel or comes to mind gets on that paper. I read every word when I don't have much to do.
Each time I read the information it makes more sense to me.
Writing has shown me a healthy mind and keeps me mentally fit.
-
What do you have to express to your readers?
I have my time set to write down what I know is troublesome to me. Usually, it is half an hour to get out what I think needs to be spoken of to readers.
I don't speak much about it. Sometimes such conversations are just not worth my time. I write it down.
After a while it is forgotten or I continue on that note to improve on the story.
-
Whatever comes to my mind I write it down?
When I am upset about certain incidents I write down what caused me to in such moods.
Every time I write down what is nerve-wrecking I feel better and more positive.
-
Why Does Writing Help?
Emotions expressed freely are like getting that load of your chest.
-
Have you ever had that feeling of getting rid of something off your chest?
-
For example:
When you need to talk to someone about a problem which is of great concern to you, only do it if the individual is trustworthy.
You can become more stressed if you don't discuss the situation.
Writing it down avoids many issues with the individual especially, emotionally.
In writing down what you feel eventually can form into a novel.
This is if you want to accomplish a novel.
Not everyone wants to share their stories to the public.
You open up your true feelings, and manage your emotions easily in the field of writing.
The daily obsessing goes away and you no longer have that doubt about yourself.
I have written mostly about my experiences in a new country and that has improved my positive thoughts in my life.
I feel writing is one of best ways to move on from bad experiences.
You can go on holiday and think the planned getaway will get you back on track.
When you are back from that holiday your ideas can come right back to you.
When you write down about what you need to get out of your mind it shows more helpful than the actual getaway.
Free flowing words help you keep a good mind.
It is my choice of thinking.
-
What is your choice?
Most writers want to express their stories and experiences, though not many writers know how to express their true feelings,
-
Writing from the heart is always best for more.
When you put pen down to paper, or fingers to the keyboard you will see the difference in yourself right away.
In my case, once I start to write what I on mind I feel good and happy to let it all out.
-
Sometimes when you are alone does it not feel like your emotions are running wild with words?
-
Do you not find yourself in the backseat working your mind away?
Emotions can be easily dealt with if you control every word by writing it down.
It sounds too good to be true or to stale for you.
Believe me the old-fashioned way of writing down your thoughts still works best for me.
I want to improve my mind with laughter and to enjoy each day.
Release the emotions that you often get stuck on. Certain emotions tend to stick by you.
A great idea is try to keep your distance from that emotion. Don't try to get rid of that emotion when you are in the middle of it.
First understand the emotion before you jump into any conclusion.
You must first realize how the emotion is affecting you.
Remember the good times in the middle of the bad times.
Write about the good you have experienced in this way you are not only reminded of the bad experiences.
The way you choose to write about such emotions can show you that feeling, over and over again.
Use your own description of words to get these emotions out of your mind. It is not like these emotions will disappear after writing about it.
You surely will feel much better after releasing what you no longer can cope with in your daily challenges.
-
How do you feel around certain people?
Sometimes you don't like being around a certain individual, and ignoring that person can be rude. Write about that person and be free of that troubled thought.
Your emotions only open up occasionally.
-
Another idea that worked for me.
I chose three kinds of people.
One person who knows me very well.
I chose an acquaintance and an individual who had often made me feel awkward.
I described each individual with an incident experienced.
I also tried to put myself in their shoes.
Such situations helped me see me in a much more different way.
I refused to feel awkward or uncomfortable.
I did not want to be with the acquaintance anymore.
I stayed with the one who knows me the best.
In all three cases I shared mixed emotions.
Writing has healed my pain and has showed me how to move on with my life.
I often write down what mostly hurts me. I do not have the unnecessary issues to discuss with anyone.

I think that writing does help keep my mind fit, though lately I haven't been able (or maybe willing) to share my life on paper even for my eyes only. Hopefully I'll get over this personal hump and be able to write more in the near future.
I write because I have to. I have so many things running around in my brain I think it might explode if I don't put them down on paper.
Great hub and very true. Writing is indeed extremely therapeutic. It's a medium I use to express my most personal fears and memories. Somehow, after I pour out what is in my head, I feel lighter in spirit and happier.
Thanks for touching upon this topic.
but you really need to be good in grammar and english
Hi DDE, I am a pretty nervy type of person these days, with panic attacks etc, but when I write I can zone in on what I am writing and totally ignore the outside world, so for me its very soothing, nell
I so agree with you. For me writing is a therapy. It is the outlet of my mixed emotions. Thanks.
Writing is the one way, as you say, to get that load off! Well said, Devika.
If you like to write, it's so much fun and it can really give you a positive focus.
Writing is certainly great therapy! I enjoyed reading your hub and looking at the photos, Devika.
Writing makes me so happy these days, and sharing that feeling with my new friends on Hubpages has been such a tremendous blessing.
I have been so sick this year that writing is all I am able to do most of the time, and even that is becoming difficult. I do not know what I would do If I could no longer write. It has truly been a lifesaver for me. Great idea for a hub, by the way. Loved it.
Devika, I am with Billybuc, I can't imagine not writing. Many of us express our feelings much better in writing than speaking.
Voted up UI and shared.
In your Poll it is "All of the above" would be my answer.
Blessings my friend.
For me, writing is cathartic. When something makes me angry, I write it out of my system, when something moves me, I write about it. So yes, writing does help us mentally. Another interesting write.
You are right about writing to express your thoughts. In some schools, children are taught to journal for this reason.
You wrote about a great topic with this. Writing can definitely be one of the best methods to help a person mentally. I like how you highlighted and gave examples of how it's personally benefited you. Job well done.
"Remember the good times in the middle of the bad times." That will work especially if you recorded the good times. In that sense, writing does help emotionally.
I'm so glad it works for you. I does for me as well. I must write. Therefore, I do write. Thanks for sharing, and being such an important part of this particular community. ;-)
The glory of writing is that you can be anyone you want to be, adopt any persona, past/present/future, explore the what ifs as well as your feelings. It's full of possibilities. I'm glad it has helped you, Devika.
so glad to see you are writing again DDE- I missed the links to your hubs in my email recently. I like the way you say it how it is in your hubs and looking forward to reading more from you as usual (even though I don't comment all the time I DO always read your stuff) Cheers
I have done this so many times, that is writing on a piece of paper whatever is going on in my mind. Sometimes the troubling thoughts just go away and I do feel free from the burden.
Wonderful hub as always!
Writing is very good in so many ways. If, as you do, write so well on the subject of human emotions it must be a great way of releasing pent up emotions and concerns., which helps other people to deal with their own emotions and concerns. I write to share my knowledge with others about nature and her gifts, which makes me feel good, and I hope benefits others. Whatever, the subject is you will find a plethora of writers here at Hubpages, willing to share and to give help to others. Another great article Voted up, interesting and useful.
I love writing, although lately I haven't had the time to do it as much as I'd like! It's a definite emotional release and the end result is gratifying!
I can't imagine not writing. I love your views on this subject, and I agree with them completely.
I view writing as a friend. Like for you, writing is soothing. When I am going through challenges in life, I write down what I'm feeling. It's like that piece of paper is my friend and I am sharing my innermost thoughts with a friend. There is no judgment and when I'm done writing I feel so much better.
Writing is very cathartic.
One can work out emotional distress but writing should be about all things happy and sad, good times and bad times.
When we write about "stuff" happening in our lives, we don't always have to have a beginning, a middle and an end.
Sometimes it is nice just to get the angst out there, and sometimes there is no end.
Yet.
I think we should write as we go along when in turbulent times, so the pressure and stress doesn't build up. If there never is an end, at least one is not a pressure cooker waiting to explode.
Writing is therapy. Free, too!
