An Ode to Cats and Kate
Ode to Cats and Kate
Cats in the hallway, cats on the stairs
everywhere you look, a cat sits and stares.
Orange cats, black cats, grey cats and white
cats meowing hungrily morning noon and night.
How many cats can liive with you at once?
One to four, ten or more - surely that's too much.
Rescue cats, newborn cats, cats that wandered in
fat cats, furry cats, cats that are sleek and thin.
Cats in the garden, and high up on the roof
cats in the pantry , scavenging all the food.
Love them or hate them cats are everywhere
sleeping on the bed or in your favourite chair.
Scratching up the sofas, litter on the floor
hair left on the pillows, paw marks on the door.
Cats who like to scratch, cats who like to purr
cats who like to sit on you and cover you in fur.
Which ever kind of cat you know, love, live with, or hate
None can be so perfect as our cute little Kate.
