How to Choose Books

Updated on June 24, 2011

Lose Yourself in The Land of Fantasy

If you are suddenly gaining interest in books, build your language, capture a glimpse of the former world and simply lose yourself in the world of books by follow some of these books. But these are for elementary readers, who have only just developed a taste for book. These are some of the best books ever penned.

Classics were written in the Victorian era, the 18th to the 19th century. They capture the thoughts, way of living, cultures and traditions that were very popular at that time. They give you a glimpse into the past. I will give you some classics now with a light air, a nice way to lose yourself in a world you don't know.

Great Expectations,

David Copperfield,

Gone with the wind

Jane Eyre

Oliver Twist

Wuthering Hights

These are all novels of the lives of these characters, very interesting. My opinion is that, mostly, women like light stories with romantic airs, these are all social novels. But for some fantasy, go for these books.

The Count of Monte Cristo

The Three Muskeeters

The Man in the Iron Mask

Huckleberry Finn

Tom Sawyer

They are all classics, classics build your language strengths and are wonderful to read when bored.

Now, if you want more recent, yet quality works, you could read these. They are crime or adventure novels.

James Hardly Chase

Agatha Christie

If you are trying to goad your kids into the reading habit, I suggest you go for these. Something that will retain their interest.

Of course, you will start of with Fairy Tails.

Famous Five

Secret Seven

Hardy Boys

Nancy Drew

They are sure to capture your children's fantasy. A survey shows imagination comes by reading or listening or observing when it is not innate in people, start of your kid's creative achievements by introducing them to reading. Help them to be competitive and self reliant by introducing the reading habit. All the best and good reading!!!
