How to Grow a Silk Plant?
A silk plant given to me by a friend.
A limerick/poem about a silk plant given to me by a friend and how and why I was asked to take it home and what happened then.
I do not know if the person who told me to take my silk plant home really thought that it was my plant that was attracting the fruit flies, even though the flies were nowhere near my plant. Or did she not know that the plant is not real?
My Silk Plant
How to Grow a Silk Plant
By Shyron Shenko
Michael got a hitch in his get-a-long
That made me want to write a poem for a song
Michael said my plant must go
And he told Amanda, the supervisor so
He said she is growing a plant over there
That is why the flies are in the air
You must make her take it home to give it care
Surely you must see those flies are everywhere
Then Amanda came to ask of me
Could you do me a favor please?
And take your plant home we think that it is producing fleas
And it's about to make me sneeze
I'll be happy to take it home, at least my hubby will be pleased.
You see! Fruits attract the fruit flies....
Dogs attract the fleas
My poor maligned silk plant does not attract either one of these
As I was heading for the door - my silk plant laying in my hand
My ears were assaulted by a rude command
"DON'T LEAN IT OVER, YOU'LL GET WATER AND DIRT UPON THE FLOOR!"
It will bring the fleas and flies and maybe more
Oh, there is no dirt and I have not watered it and so.....
If I give it water, it might begin glow
And then you folks would know
That is how to make a silk plant grow
Grow your own silk plants
