How to Write a News Release

Updated on February 13, 2017

So you want to know how to write a simple news release without having to go and take a class on it. I understand that fully and completely which is why I am going to help you. Below is a purely fictional news release that I created that follows all of the standards of a modern news release from the length of it all the way to the format.

Make sure to take careful note of how the top of the news release is formatted to allow you to keep the same formatting in your own news release. It is important that the top is separated from the main portion of the new release by the lines like I have shown below. Also make sure to put the number sign at the end of your new release so that who ever you are sending it to knows that they have reached the end of the news release.

Also kudos to anyone who can tell me which fictional characters names I combined to create names in my new release! :)
