How to get ANY Amazon Kindle book without spending any money

Updated on August 18, 2016

I love reading but I'm cheap

I love reading books using the Amazon Kindle app on my smartphone. The problem is I'm cheap and don't like spending money on books. So I started reading some of the books available for free on Kindle. The problem is many of these books are free for a reason. Not because they are bad but because they are good, very good. They are the first in the series. The author hopes by giving you the first book free, you'll become hooked and buy the rest of the series. It's a very effective marketing technique.

I've learned a couple tricks to keep my amazon account in the positive without adding any money. That way I can get any Kindle book I want without spending a dime.

Join Swagbucks

Swagbucks is a great site with a lot of ways to earn gift cards or even cash via paypal.

You rack up points by surfing the web, taking short surveys, making purchases online at major retailers, and signing up for cool offers. Points are worth a penny each. It's pretty easy to make 30-40 cents a day. The cash out is low at $5 for Amazon gift card, so I'll take no time at all to get your first gift card.

Sign up for Amazon Mturk

Sign up for Amazon Mechanical Turk also called Mturk. It's a great site by Amazon. You get paid for completing tasks called HITs that are easy for a human but imposable for a computer. The amount you get paid for each HIT ranges from one cent to a few dollars depending on how hard it is to complete. You aren't going to get rich completing HITs, but it's an easy way to earn a few extra bucks. You get paid cash when your account balance reaches $25. But if you what an Amazon gift card, you can redeem your Mturk account balance at any time.

Completing HITs on Mtruk is an easy way to earn Amazon credit to buy Kindle books. The psychology surveys are kind of fun and high paying. I normally earn enough to get a book in an hour or less. Really this idea would work for anything else you want to buy on Amazon including a Kindle.

Amazon Gift Card Reward Apps

There are several apps on the market that pay you to use them.

The Free Gift Card App rewards you for opening it every day and downloading other apps. Use the code sls450 to get 500 extra points.

Checkpoints is another App to download to earn Amazon gift cards. It rewards you for going to your favorite stores and viewing products.

Loop11 Usability Test

Keep your eye out for Loop11 Usability Test. Loop11 offers a means for websites to test usability of upgrades and get customer feedback. The testers are often given Amazon gift cards for their time. These test aren't normally publicized because they what normal users to take them. I've participated in two so far. They are easy to do, simply follow the direction to navigate through the site and answer questions on your experience. The tests took about 30 minutes.

The first test invitation was emailed to me from a website I get a newsletter from, and I received a $50 Amazon gift card for participating. The second one was advertised in a side ad on a website I visit regularly. If I didn't do the first test, I probably would have missed the ad. I got a $25 gift card for the second test. So keep your eye out for ads offering Amazon gift card for participating in a website usability test. If the test is done by loop11 its legitimate.

I like completing tasks on MTurk when I'm watching tv. Makes me feel like I'm still productive.

That's cool. I'll have to see if my local library offers that. There are plenty of other stuff on Amazon I can spend my gift cards on.
