Humility - Code Name for Donald Trump - 2nd in the Project Good Thoughts Series

Updated on June 28, 2020

Donald Trump has Humility?

I wrote this poem many weeks ago, when Jo_Goldsmith11 started the new series Good Thoughts and lost it in my computer.

When the Presidential candidates were asked to choose a code name in one of the Republican debates for President 2016. Donald Trump chose "Humility" as his code name (no one would ever break that code) that reminded me of what folder I put this article in.

Show a little of humility

© by Shyron Shenko

I’ve tried to think Good Thoughts, Mr. Trump

Even when it comes to you

I’ve tried to keep an open mind

And listen to your point of view

But I don’t see humility

In anything you say or do

The only news seems to be

Media grabbing attention caused by you

Mr. Trump, where is your Humility?

Is it beyond your ability?

To answer questions civilly?

Mr. Trump, I am asking you as president what would you do

To make our country great again

And tell us when you will begin

Tell us Mr. Trump when you are on the stump

What years were our greatest?

And which ones put us in a slump?

Mr. Trump, keep us up to date

And for you party's sake

How far back is it, our country you want to take?

What years are the ones you want to replicate?

Where is you humility, Mr. Trump?

Or is that something new to you?

How great it is for you to be renowned

When you put our military down

To paraphrase,

“John Kerry it was said, he did not deserve his “Purple Hearts”

The Navy had it wrong right from the start

Who are they to judge who deserves a Purple Heart?

Mr. Trump, is this your party's mantra?

As you are shooting from the hip?

Or is this for you a Freudian-slip?

When the ' Don ' speaks I cringe

Sometimes I wonder if he's on a drinking binge

He puffs his lip's, pucker, pucker

You know like the manure hauling trucker

I wonder if any woman will vote for him

I don't think so, not even his kin

The lime light, he's the man

But he'd run like hell when the S- hit the fan

Not to worry Shyron my friend

We know a woman who'll beat him and defend

Our country from power seekers until the end.

LOL-Hugs.

— Ruby Jean Fuller/always exploring

Ruby, Ruby, my gem of a friend

I like how you describe the “Don’s” drinking binge

He is drunk on the power of being in the lead

Or maybe he stood to close to the bush

And sniffed his Cannabis weed

As they hi-five and on each other they feed

The “Don” says he is ahead in each poll

But they asked the same 10 people if the truth be told

Along with the one that owns his soul

My, but Trump is getting really nasty anymore. Horrible attacks on the press just for asking a question or for printing his behaviors and words. If he doesn't want these things reported he should NOT do/say them. What a spoiled brat he has grown up to be -- likely because he's never been disciplined in his life. Just a father who verbally abused everyone in the home and hated women. Like father, like son.

Trump has made the U.S. a laughing stock, and other countries often, if not always, now never include him in their meetings to address problems. The U.S. has fallen a long way from the position it held for so long when we had sane presidents.

      Blessings dear friend. Stay well.

Not sure what was more shocking. The way Trump spoke to our generals and called them names, or how he told people not to take the Coronavirus seriously and contradicted the CDC on the death rate from it.

Those people who support Trump and believe he is the only human who is and has ever has told the truth are very likely to die if they take his advice regarding the Coronavirus.

I'm guessing Trump's father set a poor example in how he treated Trump's mother since Trump has no respect for women and treats them horribly in most, if not all cases.

Never having served or had his huge pink butt shot at, I think it takes a lot of nerve to be so disrespectful to our generals, many well decorated who have protected Trump so that he can destroy this country.

Au fait, thank you for all the comments. I do believe that mr. trump, would and does call anyone who does not kiss his backside all kinds of names except good ones. I would bet he even called his mother a name that equates to a female dog.

Can you believe Trump called our generals a bunch of "losers, dopes, and babies??" At least none of them have manufactured bone spurs to get out of doing their jobs. Seems to me Trump is the weakling coward. He should be publicly flogged for saying such bilge and then put in jail for all the terrible things he's done and doing to this country.

Trump is one, if not thee most despicable excuses of humanity in the human race.

Seems like more and more people of all ages are following Trump's example. Being rude in every way they can just for the sake of being A-holes. Doesn't matter where one is, rudeness seems to rule.

Au fait, thank you for the comments. You are right, most of the GOP are traitors, most of the trump supporters too.

I just saw on Rachell Maddow's the Russian spies that were spied on by our FBI for more than 20 years, and the GOP is going to try to crucify the man who was credited with arresting the spies.

It seems that trump can get away with anything.

Just when it would seem things have hit bottom and couldn't get any worse, Trump proves me wrong. Given that they wouldn't even consider a Supreme Court Justice nominee from Obama to replace Scalia, because Obama had only about a year left to serve, I think allowing a nominee from a president under criminal investigation is far worse!

It isn't only Trump who is clearly above the law despite all the rhetoric to the contrary, it's the entire Republican Party. Mueller is discovering the Republican leadership is involved in selling out the U.S. and unless he indicts Trump himself, it's unlikely any of the Republican traitors will be held accountable.

The current SCOTUS nominee doesn't believe any sitting president should be held accountable for anything while in office. Shouldn't ever be investigated or questioned, or anything. Once a president is elected by whatever means, and no matter what country installs him/her in that office, s/he should be permitted to wreak havoc for the full length of their term and only held accountable when that term or terms are over, if ever. How did this idiot get a law degree?

So Trump is essentially appointing someone who will let him off the hook for anything and everything if questions about Trump's crimes end up before SCOTUS.

I really think Trump should be held in contempt for not obeying the judge who ordered him to get all children 5 years and younger that were taken from their parents at his order, back with their parents by today. That's what would happen to any ordinary person who failed to comply and 'they' keep telling us Trump is not above the law. Clearly he is. Only about half of those children have been reunited with their parents as of this minute.

I saw on YouTube that Stephen Miller takes pleasure in seeing photos of the little children he and Trump took from their parents crying for their mothers. Like I have been saying for years now, Republicans are mean spirited, hateful, selfish, and heartless. Then they wonder, why can't we all just get along? Why would anyone support people doing these awful things if they didn't agree with them??? Who wants to be associated with people who would do such terrible things to little children and to their own country?

Blessings to you dear friend. Take care . . .

I feel certain humility is not a known word in Trump's vocabulary, nor in the vocabulary of many if not all of his supporters. Everyday he proves all over again what a spoiled rich kid he always was, and still is, since he never seems to have grown up. I wonder if it continues (his presidency and lunacy, mean spiritedness, and heartlessness, as a result) if his supporters will become as hated and reviled as he is, pariahs among us . . . I believe they should share in the blame for what is happening as should the Republican Party. Most of us knew not to put him in office, but due to some flaw, many people can't seem to recognize him for what he is or realize the evil he is doing.

      Take care . . .

It would seem that humility (like compassion, for many people) is a commie pinko word to Mr. Trump. The word and its definition are rife in suspicious mystery to him. Can you believe the arguments he gets into with Gold Star parents and widows of fallen soldiers?

I'm beyond disappointed in Mr. Kelly's 'stunning' refusal to apologize for his terrible lies about the Congress woman who was the widow's dear friend. As if the lies in themselves were not 'stunningly' deplorable enough! Clearly, John Kelly isn't the man he initially appeared to be. He and Trump appear to be 2 peas in a pod. How did Kelly ever rise to the rank of General?

Hope things will get better for you and John soon. Blessings dear friend . . .

Yes, I do think Bernie should ask his voters/followers to vote for Hillary. Bernie is calling Democrats names while running as one, does this make him a mole? I am afraid that Bernie is alienating people who would vote for Hillary and now may vote for Trump.

Michael Burges is suppose to be a representative from the 26th District in the U.S. House of Representatives, but he only represents himself.

Trump can and does incite to riot, especially when he talks against women, Hillary in particular. Yes he was a Democrat and, supported Bill Clinton, ObamaCare, and Hillary the last time she ran for president, but I think he has the notion that he would be a "GREAT" president.

Republicans run everything because they believes the lies that they are fed about Democrats and Democrats are to "LAZY" to call them out on the Republican's lies. Just like my local election where the evil ones got re-elected, because they sent out a post card filled with lies. Lies that were not refuted and people believed the "LIES" and the ones who maybe would have voted thought both sides are alike and did not vote, and the creators of the lies voted for the Liars, But the ones who were lied about, rose above the fray. Not realizing the Post Card is the fray. I am afraid that is what it is going to be during the Presidential election, the illiterate voters will believe the lies the Republicans trumped up (no pun intended) about Hillary and say it does not matter anyway and will not bother to go and vote, and we will be Trumped or Ryan-ized (puns intended) will be the new puppet in the White House.

I am repeating your last paragraph because it is also true.

The reason Republicans run everything is because Democrats whine, but they don't vote. Republicans ALWAYS vote no matter how tight the clothespin they must wear on their nose. Democrats will use any excuse to stay home. If Hillary (or whoever the Dem. candidate is) loses, it will be because Democrats can't be bothered to show up.

Blessings and hugs my dear friend I hope all is well with you.

Michael Burgess represents the 26th District in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2003. Trump is unlikely to cut SS or food stamps or any other public assistance program, just as he says he DOES want to raise taxes on the wealthy like himself (a liberal/Democratic goal). Raising taxes on the wealthy is not a Republican aspiration.

Trump does like to say the sort of things that appeal to Republicans, especially the sexist, racist, ultimately heartless Republicans. They get downright giddy when he talks, sort of like the behavior you witnessed when watching Dr. Burgess talking to Chris Hayes. They become like a cat with dilated eyes on catnip and wander about chanting, "Vote for Trump," and "The Donald is the MAN," and "I love Trump." As usual they make no sense, but when did they ever? I will not vote for Trump, but neither do I think he's a true blue -- I meant red -- Republican. He was a Democrat for years, supported Bill Clinton, ObamaCare, and Hillary the last time she ran for president. I don't think someone like him just changes his mind midstream. He'll get his place in history regardless of whether he becomes president, and I really think his entire purpose is to get Hillary elected. Time will tell.

As I said, the reason Republicans run everything is because Democrats whine, but they don't vote. Republicans ALWAYS vote no matter how tight the clothespin they must wear on their nose. Democrats will use any excuse to stay home. If Hillary (or whoever the Dem. candidate is) loses, it will be because Democrats can't be bothered to show up.

      Blessings and hugs dear friend.

Au fait, it looks like Trump met with Michael Burgess, our State Senator and he was kissing the air when interviewed by Chris Hayes, which was strange because now he supports Trump and months ago he said he could never support him.

You say that Trump won't win, well that is what I thought about our mayor, but the people who complain the most sat back and let this mayor get re-elected after what he did to our town.

Removing tea-baggers is not so easy, they keep implying there is a way to make Paul Ryan the President, and Paul Ryan right now wants to cut benefits for veterans. When Burgess met with Trump he said Trump has agreed to cut Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Obama Care and to appoint a Justice to the Supreme Court that will overturn Roe V Wade.

I always enjoy our conversations, and coming up with fresh ideas, learning what is new in each other's lives.

Well, I'm wondering if anyone thinks Trump has acquired any humility in the course of his candidacy. Seems like more and more people are accepting him as the likely nominee for the Republican Party. More and more establishment Republicans are getting behind him as they see to do otherwise is a certain death nell for their Party.

In fact it doesn't really matter if they support him or not, the damage to the party is done and is only going to get worse with time barring a miracle. Trump won't win and when it's over the Republican Party will be in a shambles. Not far from it now.

If they're able to remove the Tea Baggers from their midst, Republicans may be able to put their Party back together again. The Tea Party is what has destroyed the Republican Party and allowed someone like Trump to come in and take over. So long as Tea Baggers continue to insist on obstructionism there will be no future for the Republican Party.

Hopefully true Republicans will see that Tea Baggers really are a minority despite the ugly loud bilge that erupts continually from their mouths. Perhaps Republicans will realize that loud and raucous doesn't make up for numbers and the numbers of the Tea Baggers are limited. Sharing.

Yes I enjoyed our conversation las' night also. But then we often come up with some interesting things when we get together. Hope you and John are enjoying the cooler weather. It's to be gone in just a few days and hot weather to replace it probably until even hotter weather arrives and summer is here to stay. Blessings and hugs dear friend. Take care . . .

Hi Shyron, I couldn't resist reading this poem of yours. Donald Trump is surely making a fool of the entire USA. Imagine a man like him being the president of a country that has proved itself as the leader of all countries? It is hard to believe that there are Americans who share his 3rd World mentality. Yes I have heard that before in regard to Rubio's inference to Donald's hand size, wonder how he knows, but on the other hand he could have just handed him a cigarillo/cigar. As for women, I don't think so, otherwise Dolly Parton would be flat.

I think that no matter how insulting Donald Trump is, most Republicans will vote for one of those guys, just so their team can win.

Humility still don't seem to have been procured by the Trumster. Not only that, but he said he was going to try to be more presidential in the last Republican debate, yet he and Rubio ended up dick-talking. You know, how hands and other things are a matching set for size, etc. I guess since we all have intimate info on Clinton, neither Rubio nor Trump wanted to be outdone and just had to bring the subject of size up. At least the didn't have to get into the kinky stuff . . .

I've never heard that before, about a man's hands indicating the size of other things, have you? An interesting way to determine if a man is qualified to be president. (Size matters if you're planning to run for president.) Wonder, in a woman's case, will it be bra size?

At least politics is entertaining. I honestly don't think any Republican would win if the election were held today, no matter what his size. I think Trump has so insulted the Black and Hispanic communities that virtually no votes will be forthcoming to any Republican from there, and without a sizable number of votes from those communities no candidate can win.

Trump? His latest temper tantrum has shown him to be the child of the bunch, and here they did away with the kid's table. But Cruz was pretty nasty telling Ben Carson's supporters that Carson dropped out of the race and his (Carson's) supporters should follow him (Cruz,) and here Cruz in a natural born citizen of Canada, but says he is the second coming of Ronald Reagan, I saved the article that states that.

What a good word! And a great opportunity to search one's heart to make sure humility is present. While The Donald doesn't seem to have any humility I would say I have known people with less humility than he exhibits. It's the lack of humility in one's heart that does more damage than the loud arrogant kind Mr. Trump exemplifies. Sometimes people imagine they are getting away with a lack of humility if they don't behave in an obvious way like the Trumpster, but in fact they are only fooling themselves. God knows.

Okay, not wanting darts thrown at me I'm going out on a limb here. I think Trump is the best thing that's happened to Presidential Campaigns, ever. Why? Because he has people listening, talking, and reasoning about the office of President. People who never watched Presidential debates are tuning in and listening to see what the candidates are saying. People who never followed elections are following now, and all because of Trump! I don't see this as a bad thing. However, there is the little glitch called the Electoral College, but that's a whole other story.

Moving back to Humility, I don't think Trump knows the meaning of the word. He never had to and probably never will, sad but true, and your poem is very well written and to the point.

It seems that several of the GOP candidates have set aside their humility and are all making demands relating to the next Republican debate October 28. Several, foremost Trump and Carson, are refusing to participate if the format isn't to their liking. Cruz, Rubio, Kasich, Paul, and Huckabee are making the same threat.

They all want the debate to have opening and closing statements and to last not a minute longer than 2 hours. Not much time left for debate (mud slinging in this case) after they all make their statements and time for commercials is allotted. Sharing of course.

Hope all is well at your house. Blessings dear friend. Take care . . .

Humility is not a word that I would readily associate with him and I think that he even used it as a bit of a joke when he answered that question. I think as time goes by his campaign will implode. Just my opinion of course. How many others can he keep insulting before it happens?

Not when he said “The photographer [Mic Smith] is a f***ing thief,” Trump said in an interview with The Daily Mail. “Tell them they’re a fraud, whoever took it. I just got killed on that thing, and it was just really unfair. It’s godd**n unfair.”

“The point is that everybody from the back rushed to the front. And the people who put out the pictures knew it. And they said, ‘Oh, look! The back 25 per cent [is empty]’. I was speaking from the podium. Everybody was wrapped around the podium. If they hadn’t done that, there wouldn’t have been an empty seat.”

Politico reports that photos and Tweets from other journalists and other outlets appear to confirm that there was unfilled capacity.

Jane C. Timm of MSNBC reports that Trump spoke to “a half-full room of white people.” New York Times journalist Jonathan Martin reports that “about a third of the seats were unfilled.”

      What a sight

I see what you mean, but…

      The Don is right

      Mic Smith is a thief

      He stole the Donald’s Thunder

      It was a sorry sight

At the black rally in South Carolina that night

Where the folks that were there were mostly all white

The room with half empty chairs, he should talk to them too

That is exactly what Clint Eastwood would do

The Donald has definitely improved his position somewhat since the last debate September 16, and Carly Florina is now in second place just a point ahead of the Doctor. Scot Walker has of course dropped out, sour grapes and all, no loss IMHO. Hope as many of his fellow candidates will take his advice and drop out as well. May as well narrow it down.

Have read again on what a terrible liar Fiorina is despite her good delivery of those lies. Yes, she was a terrible CEO and that's just the beginning.

Sharing this interesting and excellent poem again. Hope you are well and staying cool. Blessings and hugs . . .

Nice poem Shyron. I thought it was a joke when I heard Donald Trump had thrown his hat in the ring for presidency. I can't figure out if this is all about publicity for him or, if he is serious. If he won by some chance, it would be very interesting indeed. I will say this if "attention seeking" was his goal, he certainly accomplished that.

From my point of view on this side of the pond, Trump looks like a showman, the ring-master at the circus. He seems to like to shock, he smirks and belittles and fawns to his crowd. To me, he's slimy and creepy.

But that's just my humble point of view!

Paula, thank you for your wonderful comment, I can't say that I disagree with you, but I think the Donald probably wears bikini briefs, the low cut kind. LOL I do hope that we do not by some fluke end up with him being elected.

Yes the Donald has shaken the Grand Old Party (GOP) to it's very core

And turned the tea pot over spilling tea upon the floor

And getting everybody good and sore.

Sorry it is in my DNA to Rhyme everything this way.

Yes like you, it is time to end the childish display, that being said the Donald did bring something to the attention of the American people. The Donald told us at the second debate that Carly Fiorina was a disastrous CEO of Hewlett Packard. She said that a man (I don't remember his name) was out to get her and that man was the cause of all the problems and that man was/is a Clintonite (Democrat.)

The following day that man was a guest on The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell, and according to the man and with proof that the Donald was right.

The Humility code name: I know is a misnomer. This is very funny. When Jo_Goldsmith11 started the Good Thoughts Project she gave me three words for the second week (Humility, Kindness and Energy) and her hub "Project Good Thoughts 7/20/2015" it is about The Donald announcing for President. So...I started writing my poem and I was stuck and needed a break. I watched the second debate where each of the candidates was asked to give themselves a code name, and the Donald's was Humility.

I too have faith in most of the voting public that we will vote for someone we feel will take care of the vital matters of our nation. And I pray that we get it right!

      Blessings and Hugs

Shyron Sadly some never possess the trait of humility ...and it is one that the leaders of nations should definitely have.

Arrogance has a way of snapping back on those who display it in such a harsh, offensive, insensitive way as the Donald.

Angels are on the way to you this afternoon ps

I think I see The Donald in my own personally chosen light. Unlike so many people, I DO believe he's serious about becoming POTUS. In fact, if by some outrageous accident, he actually wins......this is when we will suddenly see a not-so-confident braggart. When he wakes up and realizes he's in the White House, I'm sure he'll stain his jockey shorts!! ("Uh-Oh," hey guys, I was only kidding!! How do I get outta here?") LOL

All that aside.....For now this Trump Circus has given us a reason to pay attention. That's good for a change, I think. People are getting involved in their Country's issues where they may never have before now. Donald certainly has awakened the other candidates....caused them to brush up on their campaigning skills....this is also GOOD.

There's a long way to go and so much can transpire between now & the election. Trump could easily begin to self-destruct....maybe not. In either case, when the serious Presidential issues are at stake....and Donald is still repeating his same mantras, but nothing more substantial about this troubled Country of ours....then what?

All this fun & games and frankly, high school behavior needs to end. The sooner, the better. It's beginning to grate on my nerves and I know damned well I'm not alone in this feeling.

Shyron...."Humility" is not a Trump characteristic.....that's for sure! I think it's funny, but can only laugh for so long and then it's time to TAKE CARE OF THE VITAL MATTERS OF OUR NATION!

I still have some faith in all of us (the "people) and believe when push comes to shove, this election, more than many in the past, is so incredibly vital for us to GET IT RIGHT......We WILL get it right!

      Peace, Paula

I like how you describe the “Don’s” drinking binge

He is drunk on the power of being in the lead

Or maybe he stood to close to the bush

      And sniffed his Cannabis weed

As they hi-five and on each other they feed

The “Don” says he is ahead in each poll

I believe they asked the same 10 people if the truth be told

Along with the one that owns his soul.

Love Mr. Happy's comment! I think there may be a slight resemblance meaning no disrespect to orangutans. ;)

I have read headlines from ABC, NBC, MSNBC, Newsweek, and more. Trump is still on top and he's even gained in some polls. Mr. Trump has never had to develop humility. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and has managed by hook and by crook to keep it there. Oddly, it is his brashness that his supporters love.

Did you know Dr. Carson has a team of lawyers threatening to sue his supporters on copyright infringement and invasion of privacy among other things for printing up T-shirts that say "Ben Carson for President 2016." Yup, that should raise his poll numbers.

The lawyers for the company that actually did the printing for Carson's followers were ROLF because as a public person Carson has no cause of action. He can't force them to stop printing the T's.

It is suggested that Carson is running for president to become better known so as to better establish his 'brand' for book sales and other things after the election -- not because he wants or expects to become president. Not so different from the Trumpster . . .

Millions of dollars of free publicity that neither of them, Carson or Trump, could afford to pay for -- no, even The Donald could not buy the kind of publicity he's getting free right now.

Sorry it's taken me so long to comment. I did read this yesterday, but I had no Internet Service where I was. Well done! Hope all is well with you and John. Blessings and hugs . . .

When the ' Don ' speaks I cringe

Sometimes I wonder if he's on a drinking binge

He puffs his lip's, pucker, pucker

You know like the manure hauling trucker

I wonder if any woman will vote for him

I don't think so, not even his kin
