Humour - 10 Awkward Moments

Updated on April 13, 2013

In life, we try to be so cool and organised, but there are always a few awkward moments. Such as:

.

1) Disappearing Acts - That awkward moment when you set something down for one second and it disappears off the face of the earth.

2) Music - That awkward moment when you listen to a song and every single word perfectly describes your situation. You wonder if the artist stalks you.

3) Bless you!! - That awkward moment when you try to hold back a sneeze in a quiet room and end up making an alien noise, that gets everyone's attention.

4) Anger - That awkward moment when you are angry with someone and slam the door, then realized you forgot something, so you have to go back.

5) Spelling - That awkward moment when your tattoo artist doesn't know the difference between: Your and You're.

6) Talking - That awkward moment when your gum decides to fly out of your mouth mid-conversation.

7) Out with friends - That awkward moment when you say to your friends, “Don't look” and of course they all immediately turn around and glare obviously.

8) Hide and Seek - That awkward moment when you put something in a safe place, so you don't forget where it is and then you forget where the safe place is, when you need it. (Always happen with my Credit Cards)

9) Staying overnight with friends and their family - That awkward moment you flush the toilet in the middle of the night and it's the loudest sound in all the universe.

10) Phone Calls - That awkward moment when you ignore someone's phone calls and when they call you from someone else's phone, you answer it.

.

Thanks for reading. Did I miss any? ٩(•̮̮̃•̃)۶

@Lorlie6 - Cheers Laura. Good to see you again. I'm glad you stopped by.

@TeacherJoey - Ooops. Well, in the morning we are always in a Fast Forward Mode. Lol. Thanks for sharing that funny comment.

@Sarah Christina - Thanks Sarah. That was funny to read. The sunglasses one reminds me of a few times, when I have been searching for my mobile phone, while listening to music on it. Completely absorbed in the music. I'm glad you stopped by.

@One2get2no - Oh so funny but aaawh... that happened all in the name of Love. You didn't want to wake your girl friend. So thoughtful, yet so windful. Thanks. :-)

@Vellur - Cheers. Thanks so much for stopping by. :-)

@ImKarn - Nice one. Why bother?..... most people have these moments. A positive thing is, we weren't caught on Camera. :-)

@bac2basics - Thanks for sharing some more. IBS must be a tough one. I'm glad you enjoyed the Hub. Best Wishes. :-)

@RoseMay - Lol. You should write a book about Dawn, not that you've kind of got her character in your head. Oh, I'm still laughing. Thanks for sharing.

@MsDora - So True, Just once is enough. Thanks for stopping.

Number one happened to me today. I laid some reports down on my desk went back to work them and they were gone. I mean it took me forever to find them. I felt like I was losing my mind. I have had a few of these other things happen too. Great and fun hub. voted up and awesome.

Well, what a surprise! I see my Hub as a related one to this one about "What Kind of Friends Do You Have"

I enjoyed reading your awkward moments: I've had millions of them, too.

      Voted UP and shared.

Great hub...funny and true too. I have a recent moment. After eating beans I woke up needing to pass wind and not wanting to wake my girlfriend decided to not go to the on-suite but go downstairs to the cloakroom. I didn't turn on the light and consequently slipped on the stairs and sat down with a hard bang, all semblance of self control left me and I passed wind. Not only did my girlfriend wake up but it seemed that half the neighbourhood would have heard it too.

Nice hub, I've definitely experienced most of those moments at one time or another in my life. Having always been kinda a shy nerd and having many awkward moments as a result I have a few of my own:

That awkward moment when you are REALLY absorbed into whatever you are talking about and you tend to move your arms around a lot when you talk, and you didn't put the lid on your drink tightly, thus causing you to spill it on the other person. (Related: accidentally hitting someone in the face because they come walking from behind you and pass you...wap).

That awkward moment when you realized you sat on a piece of gum and it stuck to your ass.

That awkward moment when you are looking for your sunglasses and then realize you left them on your head.

That awkward moment when you start to tell a story and forget the ending or what your main point was.

That awkward moment when you randomly run into an Ex. (even more awkward if you're with your current boyfriend/husband).

That awkward moment when you run into your high school crush (or anyone from high school, really) looking like a slob during a late night run to the store.

And finally (though I'm sure I'm forgetting a few) that awkward moment when you wake up late and get dressed in a rush, only to later realize you put your shirt on inside out. -_-

      Good morning sister.

Thank you for the morning laugh.

How about when you go to say something and a burb comes unexpectedly out instead, when the service calls for a quiet moment of prayer and a loud fart explodes without warning, one time while waiting for the bus I noticed everyone staring at me and then realized I forgot to put my pants on.

God bless you with wonderful moments when He shares His amusing humour with you.

OOPS - now - that was awkward!

love ya...come on by some time - coffee's on!

Came here from Sunshine Times and so pleased I did.

Thanks for this awesome read which has me laughing this morning. Got caught with most of these at one time or another. Had one awkward moment which stretched to months. The supermarket manager where I shopped came and asked me how my friend Dawn was. No idea who he was talking about but didn't want to embarras him so assuming 'Dawn' must have been ill or moved house or something for him to ask I just said "Oh you know she's getting there" BIG MISTAKE after that every time I went in he asked me and of course it was too late to tell him I didn't know 'Dawn'

Hi Lady E. I have a few to add to your list. As you get older it´s possible to completely forget someones name for a second or two even though you have known them for years, this is not only embarrasing but worrying . Have you ever suffered from irritable bowel syndrome ? if not let me tell you it´s the pits and can cause far more embarrasment than every single thing on your list. I did laugh at the chewing gum flying out of your mouth mid conversation though, just glad I was not the person being talked to :)

I had a few of these awkward moments. I recently had one when I was having a conversation with someone. Right in the middle of our chat I called him by the wrong name! I knew his name, I have no idea why I said another name. Haha! Awkward, but I managed to save myself. Ha!
