"Hyenas Over the Lamb"

Tricked

Fooled

Learned

Schooled

Burned by the flame, but the burn has cooled

Savage dogs thirsty in the night, looking for blood

Feeble lamb finding it's footing, looking for love

Seduced by lies that appealed to ego

Warm wool, incubating our hero

Out of the womb, fresh, hot to the touch

Dogs of the night, laughing, he ain't much

Grappled, tossed and thrown to the ground savagely

The lamb struggles to get on top as dogs gather round to ravage he

The head hyena's fur pressed against the earth, under the lambs weight

The pack lurking, circling, ready to deal the lamb it's fate

Bite after bite claws dig into the lambs thick skin

No tears from the lamb, he won't allow reality to sink in

Not a minute more of this can the poor lamb stand

Purple n pink, pulped meat stinks...dogs howl, they band

Lights getting dim, dimmer; farewell long dark night

Wait! The lamb's still alive, even after the fight

The hyenas scatter, laughing, the occasion, hilarious

The lamb hated being pinned down, he being an Aquarius

The sirens song screamed out towards the dogs, but the dogs had scrammed

Laying in a pool of blood, still breathing

The lamb now a RAM

Interesting Eric, very descriptive and somewhat disturbing, but also very well written. Thanks.

Run any guantlets recently, Eric? Man, sounds like trial by fire and subsequent success. Poignant, my friend, and perhaps autobiographically metaphorical, too; I've seen no sheep in my home city! Lol.

You said it best Robert "autobiographically metaphorical".... Ha, I love that city, for good and bad, great little thing it can be.
