I Am A Reaction

Updated on June 18, 2013

I am a reaction
The things that should pass
Live in my mind
Influence, a myth
Except in the direction of my walk
Towards the things I left behind
When a word from my lips
Dies the moment it is uttered
I wonder of the need to talk at all
Is it the crazy man or the wise man
Who is never heard
Or understood as he answers his call?
Confusion as a way of life
No discernment among choices
The sun rising from the West
God talking to the wrong people
Or so they say it is true
As they steal feathers from my nest
I am a reaction
In expectant assumption
In resultant resignation
To life I am a means
To an end
And a beginning for the growth of delusion
If only I would agree
Regardless of a heart
That remains tied to my youth
A heart
That can only react
To the truth
What word of faith
Must be tested
By any means necessary?
What word of faith
Must be followed
When God’s glory becomes man's vanity?
