I Asked for Three Apples

Updated on April 10, 2015

I asked for three apples

Red, gold, and green orbs

Why do you bring me dirt?

Brown crusty earth

Made to be walked upon

Crushed beneath the feet

I will take this offering from you

And in it I will plant a seed

I will water it

Sit with it in a warm glow

Until it buds and blooms

And brings forth fruit

Red, gold and green.

I knew where you were going early on and I loved that our minds had similar thoughts. So simplistic and yet speaking so much truth. Well done, Sherri!
