"I Believe She Lives On Sarah St." by Eric Wayne Flynn

"I Believe She Lives On Sarah St."

and so, she had to go

To where, I do not know

Reasons, I know not why

So it goes, she had to fly

To ascend, to rise... to fall

Adventurous in the endeavor, the tightrope before us all

Who dare to test, challenging sadness in the rains of the sun

A living breathing dichotomy, dust, we settle as one

In a room, two stories high, up and down I see you go

Sweet mystery, innocent girl, victim, cascading in this show

Question soul, a white hot light shineth to see if it exist

Delicate flesh, a flood to the brain, escaping on a wish

Floating, away, a whisper, in and out, you went

Floating, away, a whisper, on the winds you were sent

Salvation, lay thy heavy head down, deeply unto rest

The angels crown, weight, buried, chin down unto chest

Question the value in it of every soul, as just spirits may gather, wherever they shall meet

Delicate flesh, a flood to the brain... I believe she lives on Sarah St.

Hi Manatita, your thoughts are spot on. The question is the will and or reasons to stay or go for the subject at hand. Thanks for the visit and incite.

Interesting Hub and one which can be interpreted in different ways. I thought of someone leaving or wanting to leave this earthly sojourn. Profound.

Other comments have said it all Eric, I will just dwell in the afterglow. Well written.

Thanks Christine, the picture is by a photographer named Chuck Anderson, it encapsulates the as you say "everything" in the piece for me also. It struck me; the energy it gave off. I'm glad you enjoyed the poem. Thanks for the visit and the kind words.

Thanks Dana, that is a very interesting interpretation of the work, I really like that point of view. It forced me to look at it through a different scope; I enjoyed the perspective.

      Eric,

The picture really carried for me the "everything" in this work...

Stirs my remembrance of the lyrics to my daughters song: When I Dream I Dream in Colors When I Dream I Dream of You.

      I really like this poem.

This poem really makes you think. " I believe she lives on Sarah St" It makes you think of a young girl venturing out into a world unknown. Where, she does not know, but she's searching for something. Is it peace, joy, the mystery of life? She's not quite sure she just knows if she is to find it she must go. Even if the search is to find herself.

Thank you Whonu, the words "soulful" and "enchanting" are very apropos for the tone of thoughts in this piece. I appreciate the visit and the kind words.
