I Can Hear The Ice Dropping

Updated on April 18, 2016

When We Get Scared

We have to push on

Finding a reason to grab hold

To melt the things that are frozen

Giving up control

This is a harder challenge

What we believe is only partially true

As we age things rise to the surface

We have to be open to see

The world that has so many people who don't understand or care

Taking a feeling of helpless and need

Turning those feelings

No matter how frustrating they may be

To one of compassion and tenderness

We are left vulnerable yet strong

To do what we do best

Carry on, carry on

Loving, caring comes naturally, we are gifted to love greatly, if not preoccupied by hatred. Within our orbit most effectively reigns principle sowing and reaping.

Shanmarie I will have to check out the song. It is always nice to share a good thought or word for the day. People are so extraordinary. I often wonder why people don't see what I see. For you to spend time out of your day to read something I wrote and then leave special comments means so much. I think of all the things we could be doing and how to spend our time wisely. For me expanding my thoughts and my love for life is where I am at. So I try that mentally by writing then I follow up through doing things that I have to do but with a twist of goodness. Almost like sprinkling jimmies on everything I do. I love jimmies and I hope you do too. If not we put nuts or something else you might like. Life for me is so much better living happy than sad. It gives me more energy to deal with the tough days. Have a great afternoon and can't wait to talk again soon.

Vocalcoach The beauty of it all is I am the one thanking you Thanks-a-million because if you have not read it it would just be words cluttering the computer screen. I really appreciate the time that anyone spends to comment. I have a lot of thoughts in my head they are so much better out in the open. I think their a little claustrophobic and need some fresh air. I am happy you enjoyed my writing and I hope your happiness will continue to grow leaps and bounds during the day. SHELLS

What an inspiring poem you did here! You made me think of a song by Olivia Holte called "Carry On".

Your poem struck a chord within me. It's so much easier to love than to hate - to look for the good in each other instead of finding fault. I refuse to get 'caught up' in the ugliness of negativity, jealousy, control and such.

To love feels good. To care brings peace.

      Thanks-a-million. Sharing your lovely message.

ValKaras The world can look like a cold and lonely place on the surface. People can make it loving and beautiful if they want to. Otherwise it can be upsetting and violent. May your day be interesting and full of promise and never ending love. Carry on, carry on. Thank you so much for reading.

Dream on - What a deep and heart warming poem! Yes, the world needs to open their hearts to love and compassion, and let that new sense of humanness heal their souls. - Be well. - Val
