I Can Only Open My Own Door

Updated on December 28, 2012

You don't know me
I've been happy in sad places
I've been mad at beautiful faces
You don’t know me
Because I'm not what you think

You can't see me
I've disappeared for days on end
With only a stranger for a friend
You can't see me
Because I'm gone before you blink

Whatever you think of me
Don't
Whatever you think I'll do
I won't
It's not a game anymore
I can only open my own door

You can't feel me
I've been crying over the news
I've been listening to someone else's blues
You can't feel me
Because I only know how to feel sad

You can't have me
I think it’s just better to be alone
In the river bed I'm just another stone
You can't have me
Because I made someone good turn bad

Whatever you think of me
Don't
Whatever you think I'll do
I won't
It's not a game anymore
I can only open my own door

There’s no message
There’s no message
I could be talking to anyone
But maybe I’m just talking to myself

A good poem, a little myterious but good. Even a stone is not alone in the river bed. Unknowingly you touch others.
