I Can be Me

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

How can I be

anything else but free,

when you open up my world,

give me the strength to be me.

No longer do I sit

within the confines of my doubts,

the limits of my fears,

and the conditioning of my past.

You free me,

give me the wings

to explore what I am,

what I offer this world.

You are my hope

for happiness,

and the contentment

that life can afford

those on a path of love,

a path of an open heart.

All this you give to me,

with your love,

your kindness and acceptance,

and I revere your openness,

your honesty

and capacity to love,

beyond the hurt of past.

I love you.
