I Can't Feel It

Updated on July 16, 2012

He says he loves me

But I can't feel it

I cry out in desperation

"Where is this love you speak of?"

He says nothing

He doesn't explain why he loves me

He doesn't show me through gifts

Or by through his actions

Or by complimenting me

Or by embracing me

Or holding me close

Until I feel it

There are a million signs

That he could give

But he either doesn't want to

Or doesn't know how

Or is lying

And the worst part is

Is that I actually believe

That he does love me

And I hate that it isn't enough

But there is big difference

Between believing a flame is burning

And feeling its warmth

And I have this need

To feel the warmth somehow

So although it breaks my heart

I leave it all behind

And hope eventually I'll find another flame

That isn't so afraid to shine

Also keep in mind the result of a moth to the flame.

      Very honest write.

Such honest and heart felt words. I feel the same way. People can say they love each other, but I wonder if they truly mean it. At the end of the day I think people either lie or it is lust.
