I Close My Eyes And Think

Updated on September 15, 2015

What Can We Do About Life ?

There is so much to take in every day

We only experience a very little

Our brain filters what we think

Our eyes filter in what we see

Do I enjoy my day

Do I think of new thoughts

That take me away

To a different time and place

One of years ago long passed

One of the future that could be

Everything we imagine

Do I stop and write what just happened

Trying to fill in the blanks

Whatever I do

May it bring me closer to you

So you can see into my mind

Feel my spirit

Dream the impossible

Help me find ways

To change the world

So it will not be upsetting, sad, boring and dull

It can be everything we want

Breath taking, exciting and lovely

Not just temporary

But permanent as a black, bold marker

That will withstand all the hardships and pain

Leaving us with happiness once again

brakel2 I found the greatest joy in life is to laugh at myself and the mistakes I have made. Many people are mean and want to laugh at others in reality shows where they put one person against the other. To lie, cheat and do everything they can to win. I feel slowly this attitude trickles down to real life. The old saying action speaks louder than words holds true. Words get the action started. So if I can find my faults and understand them with humor and class. I can improve and have a good laugh. If other people also learn there is two different types of humor.Good humor and bad humor. Good humor makes you laugh at being human and being in funny situations at the wrong time. Where no one gets hurt or is insulted because of their looks, lack of talent. People don't have to swear, yell and scream and make sexual gestures just to make someone laugh. I think we see to much of that already. You can use your talents and dig deeper and find silly expressions and situations funny. Like the I Love Lucy show and other comedians that make us think and laugh at life. I try to write about what I know. For me it is my struggle in life in learning what I don't know. Then trying to find the right words to share it with the world. If I get one laugh I have done a good job. To make one person forget about their troubles and feel good inside about who they are as a person and how talented and gifted they are. Maybe they can also find a good way to share their life with others. Making every day a little brighter even if the sun doesn't come out or it is pouring cats and dogs. We all only get one shot at life let's make it our best. Thank you for sharing your kind words and taking the time out of your busy day to have fun and think ... What was it like.. I remember doing that.... My day after all isn't, can't , won't , be that bad. For one reason I won't let it. Good morning and may the sun shine on you and the breeze always keep you cool.

You try to anticipate good things and try to make others happy with your words. That is so commendable, and makes me want to reach out for joy and not sadness. Your words say and mean so much and some are really funny. Thanks for sharing your wisdom. Blessings, Audrey

Jodah Life is short. So I try to find every opportunity that is waiting to be discovered. Then I try to spend the rest of my time sharing it with everyone I know. Thank you for reading and giving me one of the highest praises. I am so grateful I have friends like you that spend your time and visit. Have a beautiful night.

annart Lacking in sleep but gaining in emotional solitude. I am like a bird feeder always hanging around waiting for the birds to come. When one does arrive I get so excited some of my seed falls to the ground. Then when a few more birds come I grin. I am so delighted that out of all the places the birds can go they chose here to eat. Now I am ecstatic then in a quick second every bird has turned to flight. Why they left I may never know. If they come back I don't know that answer either. So I wait and wait. The pleasure of anticipation is killing me. Thank you as you have made me happy.

Well, you've been busy lately with all these poems! I love this one; it's so true and so positive. I like 'permanent as a black, bold marker' - very visual.

It's true that our minds make us see things in so many different ways, so if we compare with someone else it can give two points of view - great!
