I Didn't Know You Anymore

Updated on July 24, 2012

I left you

And even then I didn't know

The reasons why

I just knew I couldn't stay

But looking back I see

The reason why was simple

I didn't know you anymore

Perhaps I never really did

I was caught up for so long

In being in love with a person

That wasn't real

A person that I created

Somewhere in my mind

In the silence between us

I heard you say words

That you never really said

I thought that you needed me

When really you just used me

But worst of all

I thought that you were kind

And kindness is a terrible thing

To be mistaken about

Good guess! The oshaugh is, in fact, o'shaughnessey:)

Again I like this very much. Wondering if the oshaug is o'shaughnessy and you have wonderful Irish gift of forging words into timeless truths

I wonder how many people end their relationships because they feel like this. Some people are comfortable living in their illusions, but is that really a good way to live.

sometimes we project qualities onto people that they don't really possess. How hard it is to accept our folly. I have been there, dot thet-shirt, the hat, and the coffee mug.

Now I have the happy meal.

Creatively said. Those who have golden tongues can make anyone believe anything.

You have the elusive gift of great cadence and that is quite exceptional these days. So keep it up, grow peacefully and internally, and just be you.

Wow - Kindness is a terrible thing to be mistaken about. Just one of the many lines that hit me straight through the heart.

      Amazing writing. Voting up.
