I Don't Love You Like That

Updated on March 1, 2012

Can you see it on my face?
That last smile you gave me
Shit
Dread
That’s what I felt
You are so ready to fall completely in love
Maybe you already have
And I’m so ready to turn out the light
Darkness is calling again
And it is all I can hear

You see the moon
And think of me
But what you failed to notice
Is how the moon is positioned
Tomorrow there will be an eclipse

To think of life without considering anything or anyone
I need that
It’s not about “me” time
It’s about a “me” life
And you don’t know this about me yet
But what I thought I tamed
Is out of the cage
It’s running wild through your forest
The one where you go to smile and be in love
Now there is something bearing down on you
In slow motion
Because I can’t say the words

@pmccray - Thank you. It is a bit of a nightmare scenario I guess but it's how I felt it.

@acaetnna - "Oh dear!" Classic. Great response... but the truth is in there...

@raciniwa - Ha ha... thank you. It's a bad way to view it but this guy is ready to move on...

such impetuousness... but very glazed with truth...

I love this. Such a lovely way to voice "I'm just not that into you". There is no nice way to say it, but this is beautiful, yet full of truth.

Voted up, marked beautiful and interesting.

Hi Freya - Yeah it's not exactly a love letter now is it? Well I'm sorry... I can only love who I love.... This guy has been through a lot and is not going to give his life/time away easily anymore.... not just for sex anyway.

Beautiful poem. I love the simplicity and honesty of it. (though it sucks for her:) Voted up and beautiful.
