I Found A New Hobby

Updated on March 9, 2017

Anyone Can Become An Expert

The hobby is......

Finding the first time we did anything in our life

Then record it

It becomes our own Guiness Book Of World Records

If we don't have an exact time and place

The best we can remember will do

All our answers have to best to our knowledge to be true...

Think of all the wonderful things you have done in your life ?

Sometimes the first time wasn't the greatest and with practice we got better

Our imagination brings us to our next destination

Our first kiss

The first time we flew on a plane

The first time we got an A on a paper in school

Hmmmmm after a long time thinking

I am still waiting and I have been out of school for thirty four years

I think my teacher must of misplaced it

She was so imbarressed she didn't have the heart to tell me

So there is no exact time or place for that one

There are many others

The first time I rode on a train

It had to of been when I was six or seven

The time I sailed around the world

No that time has not come yet either

The time I climbed mount Everest

Now that would be a time I would remember

I think I have to go a little smaller

The time I walked across a metal bridge

I thought for sure I was a gonner

Every car that went over made the bridge almost collapse

The big truck just finished me

Holding on to the railing

For dear life

I didn't need no carnival ride

All I had to do

Is walk over the big, old, peeling, painted bridge

I kept on trusting the people that built it

They wouldn't build something that wasn't safe ?

Would they ?

My first alcohol drink

For some people they want to remember the last time they did something

Drinking and smoking or etc...

It's what ever brings you joy

For me it's the first time that holds so many new and exciting memories

First day of school

A sunny day in September

When I got the chicken pox

Picture day

Where I begged to stay until we took the class picture

Then I went home sick

I found out later the pictures didn't take

My class had to take it again without me

I will have to find that picture and photo shop me in

I love modern technology

There are so many firsts

The first time I jumped in a pile of leaves

I loved it so much

It was only later that I realized it wasn't so much fun

When you jumped in a pile of leaves and your neighbors dog was there before you

She was so nice

She left you a great big present under the leaves

A secret buried treasure

What a find

It had an aroma

I still remember to this day

So I leave you and I continue on with my list

Maybe you can start your own

Leave a few for me to enjoy

Here a few parting thoughts....

When it comes to first

I am there

If it's riding a bicycle or flying a kite

Cooking scrambled eggs or brownies

Walking the the sand or going swimming in my uncles pool

Driving a car

My first poem getting published

Eating yogurt or going to a flea market

Wearing glasses or wearing a contact lens

Traveling on our first road trip with the family

My first sleep over

Sewing or typing

Definitely not my favorite

Going hiking on a dirt trail

Running in the grass

Playing football or basketball with friends

My list is endless

It is always growing

Thank God for making the first time

It is up to me how many times I do it after that

Gypsy Rose Lee It's a fun way to experience the memorable times in our life many times. Seeing life at different angles and maybe coming up with new thoughts and ideas. Thank you so much for finding the time to follow me along.

Michael-Milec That was quite a nice compliment. Thank you very much. There are so many little things we can enjoy in our life if we see it with a fresh set of eyes. I loved your addition to my story. My first job was helping my cousin when he was a paper boy. So many papers to deliver so early in the morning. I said I don't want to do this every day. Thanks so much for reading and sharing. Have a glorious weekend.

Sounds like whatever you have done first time, you already knew how to be done or a repeated experience for you. Definitely quite convincing poem inspiring to force oneself "if DRREAM ON' can do it I can do it too. Undoubtedly I have permanently engraved in my memory my first adult job on a farm my mom assigned me to helping my father in he field. I was four year then and since that time I was always nearby my mom or dad asking "what can I do" - which was common for farm-kids to keep themselves busy. I am most grateful for those years prior moving to the city with grandparents live during the school days. Working became my pastime continuing up to this very day... Life is beautiful and work keeps us out of all evil things.

      Have a succesful day.

Dora Now that's nice thinking. My life is simple and I enjoy simple, relaxing and reading. I am not sure people would be interested in my firsts. It would nice to see others though. Their first concert. When they first traveled out of the country. Maybe the first day in church or reading the bible. Meeting a new friend. Changing schools. The first apartment you lived at. I love that everyone can experience the same thing but have so many different memories. Thank you for reading. Are there any firsts for you that you would love to share? Have a lovely weekend.

Manatita44 You have to be in great physical shape and mentally alert to tackle such a challenge. Mother Nature can be so beautiful and yet so unforgiving. Wishing you safe travels and my prayers go with you. Thank you for sharing. You do what so many people only dream about. Keep up the special, extraordinary work helping people in need. God bless you.

Well, about 3 years ago, I went to Arusha on some humanitarian work. There were 16 of us, the bulk being Americans. As I'm one of the resourceful ones, I went ahead and set everything up. I did not climb because I was tired with working so hard and I was in Ghana previously. 17 people climbed and nine succeeded!

I had done 4000 metres the year before and simply came down because we were going to Kenya and pressed for time.

Anapurna is a different beast. Higher, tougher, but infinitely more heavenly. It is a unique experience. Thank you for asking.

manatita44 To climb Kilimanjaro and Anapurna must of been incredible. The view, the experience. How long did it take you to climb each. The closest I have come to climbing any mountain is in my dreams. To dangerous and risky for me. Thank you for reading and sharing. Are you planning any new adventures ? Have a great afternoon.

Great memories and moments as well as some heroic thoughts. Nicely put together.

I went 4000 metres of Kilimanjaro and 5000 plus up Anapurna in Nepal. Cool! Nice hobby.
