I Forgive You - Heart Break

Maurice Bishop, a powerful, spoken word Poet currently serving in the United States Army. Published Author & Motivational Speaker.

Every time I wake up next to her I feel broken and old, better yet cold,

As if my body was froze and being caught in an avalanche buried under the snow.

When she kisses me the blue skies explode causing my body to fold,

Lynching my heart for the whole world to show.

So you mind as well cremate me because the acid from her tongue drowns my soul.

I can't be close to her, because she like thorns piercing my eyes, knives piercing my side.

Her lies are like deadly venom that can make angels fall from the skies.

I can't be in the same room with her, I have to be outside to stay alive,

Because me breathing her air is like breathing in carbon monoxide.

I thought she loved me but I guess it was lust.

Because she slept with another man so I became a memory lost in the dust.

She took my heart and squeeze it til it bust,

So whatever remains left in her hands, she put it in the toilet to flush.

She poison our relationship, chopped the T off of Trust so the beauty I once saw turned into rust,

And all I want to do is squeeze her tight til every single bone in her body crush.

And every time I think of her my stomach turns inside out in disgust.

I forgive her

I knew her since we were teens.

I treated her like a queen.

Bought her clothes and the latest jeans.

Gave her things she never had and show her things she never seen.

We been through storms after storms but overcame as a team.

I loved her for her, I was the man of her dreams.

But she substituted me with another man.

Her love paralyze me I can barely stand.

And the hate I feel towards her, you wouldn't understand.

I want to strangle her soul til her soul dies in my hands.

I hate her, but yet I'm missing her.

My love can kill her because I'm so dangerously in love with her.

My blood burns with rage because I took care of her son that wasn't even mine.

Holding her son in my arms at 2 in the morning because he cried all the time.

I spoiled him, treat him as if he was mine,

So how can I leave her if the thought of losing her son runs in my mind?

But if I had custody of him I wouldn't be able to leave the past behind.

Because me looking at his face kills me, I rather take care of him blind.

I will not let her hold me back or be trapped in my sorrow.

Because God is good anyway and there's hope for tomorrow.

Maybe God has another woman in store for me.

And if so I'll be waiting patiently and still,

Because I'm focus on something that's real.

In spite of everything I forgive her with all my might.

I pray for her and her son before I go to sleep at night.

In spite of everything , I forgive her.

Thank you CMCastro for the comment. I was telling Deborah that it was hard for me to forgive. I'm still shock that she did what she did but I'm over it. I have a wife now that loves me and is faithful to me. Much Love and Respect to you.

I understand what pain in a relationship is. Just being in a relationship where love is lost is not much of a relationship at all. Trying to fix something with someone who doesn't want to change can be frustrating. But I understand the power of forgiveness, and how it is an opportunity for second chances. Personally, I am going through that right now. You have to let go and let God take care of everything.

Heart-wrecking and yet heartwarming at the same time. You have really done yourself a great justice choosing the right words to convey such a tedious feeling for this poem :) Very well done; voted up!
