I Fought A Kiwi And The Kiwi Won

Updated on September 16, 2015

Three For A Dollar

What a deal

I had my first kiwi last year

Some people call them star fruit

The size of over stuffed egg

Furry on the outside

Really sweet

I call them juicy and odd little fellas

One good wash under the faucet

Cut off the ends

You are ready to eat

I cut it into delicious slices

Before long it is gone

I know what you mean about work. I've had some bum jobs when I was temping but my last teaching job was fantastic, with great students and lovely staff. It makes such a difference.

      Thank you; you too!

Annart I try to make work interesting and fun. Most of my coworkers our teenagers and are busy with their thoughts elsewhere. I don't get it. They don't realize how important relationships are everywhere you go. Learning doesn't only exsist in school but all through life. The more pleasure out of work the faster the time goes by. For so many it is their first job and they will go to many other jobs. This happens to be my career. I never knew it would turn out that way. It just happened.Thirty two years later I'm still here. Thank you for reading and adding wonderful comments to my day. I am very appreciative for all my readers that take the time to read and share their thoughts and ideas. I know how busy one person can be. I use to work three jobs and was lucky when I found the time to go pee. It taught me many valuable lessons. Good work ethics. Give it all you got in everything you do. You never know where the next day will take you. Have an amazing day.

Annart I just bought eight kiwi's. Four for a dollar. The best price ever. I brought them to work and passed them out. Kiwi's for everyone. Thank you for reading and telling me your kiwi story.

I love kiwis. Such an unusual flavour, though they do have a gooseberry'ish taste. I like them in a salad or sandwich too. In fact, talking about them has made my mouth water - I can't eat just one slice either, has to be the whole thing! Off to eat one now!

      Great poem.

Jodah I heard all the vitamins are in the skin. So don't throw away the best part. The skin of a baked potato is better for you than the potato. So happy to see you and hope you are having a wonderful day. Thank you for all your comments and kind thoughts.

Dream On. I always jut cut them in half and scoop out the flesh with a tea spoon. That works well.

Jodah The kiwi fruit is so different from a plum , nectarine, pear or an apple. All these fruits you get to eat the outside skin. Fury like a peach. Tougher than an apple. With a kiwi you can't eat the ends. They are too tough. I keep trying but I don't like it. I bite and chew. All the other fruits have a stone except the pear and apple. The kiwi has no core. More like a giant strawberry with a hard skin. It reminds me of a prehistoric fruit. Thank you for reading and sharing.

Dream On, when I saw the title I was thinking of either the small flightless bird or a person from New Zealand..not kiwi fruit, you surprised me. I just love those furry little fruit. My favourites. Fun poem.
