I Had To Stop
I Was Feeling Sick
I just want to sit down
At one time I could go all day
Raking like no tomorrow
From morning to night
Without a break
Now my belly gets in the way
The ground is too far away
I get a little light headed
The kind most people would pay for
A little shaky
I ate a good breakfast and a descent lunch
A good seven hours sleep
I am not a diabetic
I could lose a few pounds
I am use to being on my feet all day
I also know what it is like to work in the heat
I am always drinking lots of water
So I don't understand
I am a young 54
I eat a lot of fruits and vegtables
I'm a sucker for a good chocolate sweet
I stay away from a lot of carbs
Well I feel a little better
Off to the great outdoors
It is only a few steps from my back stairs
I have a little grass, lots of rocks and a few trees
It is where I find my mostly quiet
Tiny part
Piece of paradise

Dream On,
Its funny how our bodies change over the years.
What i could do when I was younger...cannot put a penny to it now. I gotta take my breaks.
Maybe its just Gods way of telling us to look around and enjoy the scenery. I didn't do too much of that when I was younger.
Glad you have a quiet place to rest.
Nice write.
My senses come alive when I read your poem on nature. Nature and naps are both blessings!
It always helps to take a break in nature. I have a little table out on my tiny porch and I can sit there and feel the breezes and see the palm trees all around.
Excellent. Jamie
