I Had To Stop

Updated on April 11, 2019

I Was Feeling Sick

I just want to sit down

At one time I could go all day

Raking like no tomorrow

From morning to night

Without a break

Now my belly gets in the way

The ground is too far away

I get a little light headed

The kind most people would pay for

A little shaky

I ate a good breakfast and a descent lunch

A good seven hours sleep

I am not a diabetic

I could lose a few pounds

I am use to being on my feet all day

I also know what it is like to work in the heat

I am always drinking lots of water

So I don't understand

I am a young 54

I eat a lot of fruits and vegtables

I'm a sucker for a good chocolate sweet

I stay away from a lot of carbs

Well I feel a little better

Off to the great outdoors

It is only a few steps from my back stairs

I have a little grass, lots of rocks and a few trees

It is where I find my mostly quiet

Tiny part

Piece of paradise

Brenda Arledge I wonder how it is when we are young we do so much and think so little. I guess we are so busy and learning as we go Then when we are older we think so much and do so little. Thinking back at all the times good and bad. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts.

      Dream On,

Its funny how our bodies change over the years.

What i could do when I was younger...cannot put a penny to it now. I gotta take my breaks.

Maybe its just Gods way of telling us to look around and enjoy the scenery. I didn't do too much of that when I was younger.

Glad you have a quiet place to rest.

      Nice write.

My senses come alive when I read your poem on nature. Nature and naps are both blessings!

Gypsy Rose Lee Especially when life gets hectic I look for my own little slice of heaven. I drink a nice tall glass of water and take a walk. it refreshes my brain and refuels my body. I can see you sitting there relaxing and just enjoying an incredible day. Thank you so much for showing me the beautiful spot you go and now we both find a way to feel great any time of the day. Have a restful sleep.

It always helps to take a break in nature. I have a little table out on my tiny porch and I can sit there and feel the breezes and see the palm trees all around.

Jamie Lee Hamann Thank you for visiting my two hubs and sharing your incredible charisma. In the future, you might be free. My act could use a little help. If that happens I will have no one filling my seats. I am a little more mixed up than when I started. They say if you fall off your horse, you are suppose to get right up and back on you go. Luckily nobody is watching. My horse left without me. Have a sense of humor and endless amounts of fun. By the way are you going my way? Just asking.
