I Have Seen A Lost Soul

Updated on December 1, 2016

Troublesome As It May Be

Every day it's not uncommon or see many people

Some you see only for the moment

Other people you plan to meet

They are sometimes there or they surprise you by being somwhere else

We all have different goals and dreams

Each of us live with a different purpose

It's not easy to get into my own head

Never mind someone else's

Do we really know why we are put on the earth ?

Are we born just by chance ?

Is there a deeper meaning to life as we know it ?

Are we all part of a greater plan or master design ?

The other day I was out in my yard

Just a few feet in front of me

I couldn't believe my eyes

How could this happen ?

I thought it was virtually impossible

No one I know has ever brought the subject up

In all my life how could it be ?

Was it one of those things that happens and nobody ever mentions

Do we brush it under the rug

Look the other way

Act like it never happened

Why should we ?

My life will be changed forever

Just a few minutes earlier

Everything was going fine

I went out to do some yard work

It had rained last night and the leaves are all wet

The air was still

I felt cold and damp

No sun in the sky

I had an eerie feeling

I tried to dismiss it as nothing

Maybe my mind new something was going to happen

My body had no clue

I was walking along the lifeless rose bush

Looking down at the dead leaves all brown and decaying

I almost fell

As I caught my balance

I took another step

Then I almost fell again

I realized there was nothing in my way

Why did I lose my balance both times ?

I looked at the bottom of my left work shoe

There it was

A lost soul

Forgive me

I made a grave mistake

I am horrible in spelling

A grammar error

Darn that spell check

It's really not my fault

I wouldn't lead you to believe something different

There we have it

My lost sole

The rubber had come loose from the bottom of my work shoe

I still couldn't believe my eyes

Somebody didn't do their job correctly

I wonder how many lost soles are floating around out there ?

Just waiting to be discovered

Could you let me know if you see one ?

Please tell me how you handled it ?

My wife said that's the end of those shoes

Not so fast

I am going to try some amazing super glue

If that doesn't work

Out you go

Dream On, a lost sole can be repaired with super glue

But if you lose your soul

      What do you do?

You cannot redeem a lost soul with super glue

And you could never regain your balance from a lost soul

That fell through the hole left by the loss of the sole of your shoe

Blessings my friend, love your poem

Gypsy Rose Lee Rubber Soul is the sixth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles released on Dec. 3, 1965. That's almost fifty one years to the day.

Gypsy Rose Lee I can't wait to listen to the Beatles Album Rubber Soul. A lost soul has always kept me puzzled. This lost sole is also difficult to handle. It wasn't as easy as I thought to fix. Thank you for reading and sharing music that stimulates thought.

Ah, yes the two words one inspirational the soul and one keeping our shoes on our feet - sole. You know I don't know what it was in your writing but as I read this the one thing that popped into my head was The Beatles album Rubber Soul.

Nellieanna A lost sole can be made good again. I wonder if a lost soul can also be good also. The super glue is working it's magic. I will be testing it soon. I love to have fun and create so many different possibilities. Thank you for dropping in. My wife will put tea on and it would be lovely if you could stay. If not another time would be grand. It is short notice and we understand if you have plans. Thanks for reading and sharing.

What a profound play on spelling of the two words - sole and soul - and you have drawn from it a profound meaning or lesson involved!

It's interesting to consider how one handles a lost (or loose) sole. It could easily seem that the value of the entire boot has been lost or compromised, so might as well dispose of the pair! Nowadays, repairing shoes, darning socks, or repairing a loose hem is hardly even considered!

On my sojourn yesterday with Val, she was looking around the area of the license place, which was unfamiliar to her. She noticed things about the area I'd hardly even noticed in my many visits to that license place. One thing she noticed was a shoe repair shop across the street! These days, that is a rare sight! There used to be shoe repair shops on every other corner. These days, though, they're really a rarity! People just don't repair broken goods these days. They dispose of them and replace with new things, which seem to be less and less made for long-term service! Maybe manufacturers realize that they'll be chucked if they break and they can sell people the new versions!

Growing up, everything was repaired and we kept using it! It had to be totally beyond fixing or using before being replaced!

I remember once before George died, there were fresh flowers I usually kept on the coffee table. I nursed each bunch along to last as long as possible, -- down to only one blossom or so. But these flowers had been through many purges and salvations but had finally reached their limit, so I removed them and was going to discard them. But George noticed and was really concerned that it showed a kind of lack of concern for life! I could almost read his mind thinking, "'Is that how I'd be disposed of if I began to wilt?"

I certainly hadn't thought of that, but it reminds me of your comparison here of a lost sole and a lost soul!

So get out the super glue and give the boot one last chance! Hugs.
