I Know Who's to Blame

Updated on November 1, 2012

Did I mislead you?
Or just smile a bit too much?
Did I make you feel like my lover
When I talked about your touch?

I thought about my attraction
To a woman who loves my mind
You listened very carefully
And wondered what you might find

Was I performing?
Or just being a friend?
Did I want your love?
Or someone before the night would end?

You were there all along
But I never knew
And now that you showed me
I don’t know what to do

I don’t know by what right
That I let you come so close
I wanted to feel your breath
But a thorn cannot be a rose

I knew this all along
I live to cause pain
By you never knew
And I know who’s to blame

Was I performing?
Or just being a friend?
Did I want your love?
Or someone before the night would end?

You were there all along
But I never knew
And now that you showed me
I don’t know what to do

The woman that truly loves you will be there all along. Sometimes people don't realise what they have until they are about to lose it. Great work as always!
