I Long to Merge, in Thy Ocean of Perennial Bliss: An Offering to Linda Lum (Carb Diva)

Updated on June 4, 2017

Radiant Star

A charming friend

A free verse Sonnet

I soar, up high, into the firmament of the sky.

O my Sweetheart, I am your radiant star.

A little twinkling here; a little ‘shooting’ there,

I glide across the heavens … a cute kite,

Playing, like a child, with the beauty that dances.

I am your rainbow, o Harbinger of Peace,

Painting your myriad colours,

On the canvas of each Soul.

I waltz with dazzling moonbeams;

Dine with the glow of crimson sunsets.

Ah, my Beloved, who else am I,

If not the seed from which your Light glitters?

Flowing within the river of serene energy,

I long to merge, in Thy ocean of perennial Bliss.

The beauty of the moon

Heaven's Banquet: Poem for Linda

"With the finesse of elegant calligraphy,

He stroked his way into the Heart,

Invoking a delicate fusion of Love and Beauty--

A raisons d'être for the celestial banquet." -Lantern Carrier

      Yes, Shauna.

I also like her very much. Some of us show heartfelt and sincere love and she is one of those. But you're not bad yourself, my friend. Glory be!!

Beautiful poem for one of my favorite people, Manatita. I love her so much that I not only follow her on HP but her personal blog as well.

      Well done!

I like it too. A piece of genius from me, ha ha. I play with the words. I've used 'river' many times in really beautiful ways ... so I create and create ...

Thank you so much, my friend.

You've created another lovely tribute to a hubber, Manatita. I love the thought of "flowing within the river of serene energy". It's my favourite line in the poem.

      Ah, Linda,

What can I say? Such a beauty of a compliment!! Giver and receiver; maestro and audience or gardener and the flowers ... we each give and receive, so necessary in this play of life.

You seem to know this. My eternal Gratitude. Glory be!!

Manatita, I am humbled by your words. You speak of the "ocean of perennial bliss." Though the breadth of a continent and depth of a sea separate you and I, there is a connection. For this I am thankful.

I treasure your gift of creating incredibly beautiful images with just a few very well-chosen words. God has endowed you with a special gift; thank you for sharing that gift with all of us. I feed people with food that sustains them from one meal to the next; you feed with words of encouragement and love that nurtures our souls forever.

A lovely poem, and worthy recipient of a tribute..Linda. I have never met another Hubber unfortunately. There are not that many in Australia who I know. Good job.

True, it is a continuous flow. Giving oneself to the divine ensures that the whole universe works with one. Nothing is outside this circle. That is my experience. But yes, Linda's work is quite noble and worthy of excellence and note.

      Hi Bill, aaahh!

I knew of someone else who did not quite make it. So good to meet her. I wanted to see Nellieanna in Texas, but my sister was and still is ill, so did not make it. Sometimes it's good to know that we are not just 'virtual realities.'

I tried to see Mary a few times in NY. But you know, sometimes there are things we just don't know and God wills all anyway. God bless her loving Spirit, even unto the last. Glory be!!!

Linda is one of the few Hubbers I've met in person, so this was extra special to me. I know she will love it!

Linda moves beyond the writing and becomes a friend in more.

As I feel this poem does. While we may not leave this plain we still need to spend time in others.
