I Must be True

Updated on July 17, 2016

I Must be True

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

Rarely a choice,

is this drive for truth,

my souls yearning

for freedom

a guiding light.

Disparaging voices,

taunt my path,

their incessant lies

fill me with doubt.

But my heart whispers

soft words of encouragement,

gives me strength,

to follow my course,

Often unwanted,

the truth revealed,

its dark reality

too much to bare.

But weather I must,

the core revealed,

so I may embrace

what is,

without judgement.

Why I am chosen for this quest,

I do not know,

but I must abide,

however painful the life.

For knowledge

results in understanding,

and pain falls away,

the mind’s vision

further than horizons.

The darkness

of unwanted truth,

is but an affectation,

a view lost to naivety.

Truth, in the end,

cannot be judged,

it is unmoved

by our perspective,

and remains,

a destination

of souls as mine.
