A Sonnet Offering to Shan Marie

My mind is as still as the breath of Silence;

My Heart roars with the grandeur of waterfalls.

Hyacinths and daffodils rise to greet me,

As I die to the clamour of empty sounds.

My soul-bird ascends, as high as an eagle,

And I enter the realm of dance and music.

The strong winds of hope untangle my Spirit;

Unfurl my silv’ry sails to abide with Peace.

Come! Come! The lute of the minstrel draws my soul;

I glide into the garden of the Beloved.

Sweet heaven, I’m your intoxicated child,

Sheltering on the wings of supernal Light.

I pull Love’s bow with the arrow of longing,

And dine on the peak of Himalayan Bliss.

True, we cannot move faster than Grace and we are where we are at every given moment. Still, when the Heart is pure, the longing intense and Gratitude floods the inner vessel, Grace pours into the being like a ray of Light, streaming through the opened window and the Temple of the Heart becomes flooded with Peace. -Manatita

      Well, you were on my mind and so we stole from each other in the ether. I was wondering about your health and the first poem that you like, was definitely for you. Funny, eh? We are all one stream in the valley of Love ... the land of Bliss.

      Don't think that Bill will miss your poetry.

      Thank you so much!!

      Thank you, manatita. How kind of you to think of others when you write and to include me. The first quote especially resonates with me. It fits my feelings about so many different circumstances and relationships.

      "Mine is the wisdom-light,

      That tells me to ask

      Not for a lighter burden,

      But for a stronger Heart." - Sri Chinmoy.

      Thank you again. Oh, and tell Bill that as it so happens, I just published one. Funny thing, too, because I think it fits into your theme here and I hadn't even read this yet. LOL

      Much beauty and wisdom in these words and lovely illustrations!

      Among all the others, this is a great quotation and is food for thought:

      "The very nature of kindness is to spread.

      If you are kind to others,

      Today they will be kind to you,

      And tomorrow to somebody else." - Sri Chinmoy.
