I Saw A Light

Updated on December 20, 2011

The holidays are comin’ fast this year

And I’m not quite ready

My life is none too steady

With everday stress and strife

I wandered out into my garden

A gray day like all the rest

When my eye caugt the sight of a light

A bright shining beam of hope

From up above

And as I looked in awe

The brighter it became

And I knew that God was saying

Hey, there’s always hope

Just beyond the horizon

Thing’ll get better

Right away I felt much lighter

Like a burden had been lifted

My unsteady world had shifted

I knew I would look forward

To the hoidays with renewed joy and pleasure!

Sometimes it is just good hearing these words. I know I commented before, but it really is an uplifting poem Gypsy. Encouragement can do wonders.

This is beatiful! I believe all of us have our days when consciently or not; we look for the bright light that has so many different names and belives but one singular principal: Hope to make us believe we can move on!

Thanks for sharing inspiration and spreading good energy!

Thanks you so much for your nice comments Bella Nina and Ardie. They are always appreciated. This inspiration actually did come from that light that I saw as I looked up. Then it was a choice of writing down poetic inspiration or running for the camera. In this case I managed to write on a pad right there in my garden while my husband was the camera man.

This is beautiful and I hope to see that same light soon. My burdens often become heavy and I lug them until someone comes along to help. Your imagery was stunning - I almost felt like I was in the garden with you.

Up, awesome, and beautiful Gypsy. I like the message behind this poem. That light, God, we must let the light come within. I hope all is well in Lativa. I wish you a Merry Christmas, your loved ones as well. A very soulful poem.
