I Wish I Could Cry

Updated on December 17, 2017

it’s been such a while

since I last saw you

I’m dying inside

I wish I could cry

it’s been such a while

since I held your hand

it’s been such a while

since I made you glad

I’m dying inside

I wish I could cry

I wish I could let go

of all of this pain inside

I’m drowning in tears

inside out

upside down

wrong way round

I wish I could let go

of all of this

all of this pain

I’m dying inside

I wish I could cry

it’s been such a while

since I touched your face

I’m dying inside

I wish I could cry

it’s been so long

it’s been so long

it’s been so long

it’s been so long

I’m dying inside

I wish I could cry

Hi and thanks Ray. It was written as a song and only then did I see poetry. Russ

Love it when men admit they have feelings, all I can do is laugh if I see a man cry...... does not help, it is a nervous thing I think....... really liked that it was absolutely brilliant..... Have I joined your fan club...... hope so.

I cried today. Like Cris A said, the ones not shed are the most painful. Nice poem Russ.

Thanks Frieda, you've got it. It's a song I've written and it does feel like a dance.

Beautiful. I love the movement especially in the second stanza. This poem is very much like a dance to me. Bravo.
