I Wonder If He Knew You

Updated on March 21, 2016

I shouted into the tomb of refusals
It was as I feared
There was no sound
Not even an echo of my voice
Indifference had shuttered her memory
A response was not worthy of her existence
Yet finally a faint sound melted away the silence
For once the sad song was about me
It was a song I never cared for
Suddenly it had meaning
Because it was about you
And me
But who played the notes you never heard?
Who wrote the words about a dream you never shared?
For once I wondered
How could a stranger know me so well
I wonder if he knew you too

full of deep emotion. Your poem seems never fail to touch and stir, Mark. But it is rare I think, to found male poet as sensitive as you. Existed but rare. So far I only meet few in here.

Hi Freya - Thank you. That means everything coming from you. I just try to feel the moment and not allow anything to stop the emotions...
