I Am Sorry for Stealing Her Love.

So I carried my young son out into the fresh night air for our routine of saying good night moon and good night stars and sleep tight sun. And I asked as he stared into the heavens if it was the prettiest thing he had ever seen and he began to nod his head and then stopped and shook it and Mommy is! I reckon I have done a decent job so far. But it enticed me as he and his mother slept to write this piece.
Small eclipse for man, but "a total eclipse of the heart"?
I am so sorry oh great moon
You to whom all lovers swoon
I am so sorry of marvelous stars
You who grace from here past Mars
I am so sorry setting sun
From you all life has begun
To all you heavenly bodies with beauty and grace
I hang my head in some disgrace
I stole a piece of your unearthly glory
Just to complete my lone love story
I captured one of your kind
How explosive this thing we mortals call love
How could I ever be so blind
I took her here and bound her tight
I hold on to her with all my might
So she may stay just one more day
With me here again to play
I stole from the heavens above
So she could be my one true love
And give me a child born of need
To fulfill my earthly greed
I felt so bad
I felt so sad
I resolved to set her free
So in her splendor she could be
What can grow from a mustard seed?
What is greater? Love or the universe?
"If you are not sure, hang on, and you will find out, either way it is worth the effort, but if you want to be really sure,,,, let go!" ed
With dazzling lights and for others
Up in the heavens with no borders
I celebrate the day I gave her freedom
For she returned into my kingdom
And promised me this is where she shines
This is where her heart dines
So we are free now from our jail
And both chose from here to hail
My wife, my love for all eternity
Has chosen to stay with me.
