I continue to yearn..

I think of you and all the things about you that I miss

No other thoughts except the dreams of future bliss

Trapped in the intricate cobwebs of longing and silence

I am so frustrated by the presence of your absence.

No lingering memories but a few silent conversations

And those stolen glances in sublime anticipation

Of the glorious moment when you hold me and profess

The undying love which I am also ready to confess.

And till then I spend my days in helpless longing

With melancholic thoughts that often come calling

Hoping for your love, this heart continues to burn

For a tiny drop in the vast desert, I ache and yearn.

I would describe this as sweet melancholy. I can feel the aching.

You miss him, Swalia? Never mind you're moving the right way. I too, sometimes feel trapped by this 'sweet' ephemeral shadow. It stays in our hearts even when it's not there. The 'present absent.' Nicely written Hub.

"I am so frustrated by the presence of your absence" is really all encompassing. Straight from the heart. Just beautiful and it evokes so many emotions.

Really beautiful. You are trapped in the melancholy of an absent love. The longing of that does bring us to this melancholy feel doesn't it? I really felt your words deeply here. Lovely!

Thank you Missy! Love is so beautiful and yet so complex. It brings so much joy and yet so much misery. Longing is melancholic and yet it intensifies the feelings for your beloved.

Thank you Rajan! I tried to write what I was going through yesterday and may be that's why it comes across as 'straight from the heart.'

Thank you Manatita! Longing when for a person brings melancholy but when longing is for the divine, it fills you with eternal bliss.

Thank you Surabhi! And now that you have reminded me of this beautiful song, let me ask you how did the Saturday program go? I am sure you must have left the audience spellbound.

Thank you, Shaloo. It was blissful. The Temple was filled with many Krishna devotees, and Staurday is normally a day that is regarded for Shani devta, so we sang a few Shani devta bhajans. It was nice. Someone came from Punjab, India – Guru-ma and gave a wonderful spiritual lecture. Had a great satang. We served Prasad to people, sang bhajans, and danced. So much joy when a group of devotees get together!

Wonderful swalia, if we only didn't look for love in the wrong places. Anyway, thanks again for sharing!

@Surabhi I can relate to it. I also attended the Sunday program at local iskcon temple. The melodious kirtans, spiritual lecture followed by prasadam- we are indeed blessed to be on the spiritual path.
