I fly

Updated on May 30, 2010
This is a poem that I had written about 4 years ago.
At the time it seemed kind of without meaning until
I reread and decided to make a few changes and publish
it. It was actually more in depth than I had thought
and I could see what was being formulated in my head at
the time. It did have meaning.

When I started writing poetry, I had a belief that poems had
to rhyme. Poetry does not need to rhyme, however, while reading
this again it kind of flows on the tongue and I might try to
use a little meter in my future poetry.

I fly in the Sky

I fly in the sky
after the barrier is gone.
Clouds do float lazily
as I sing my song.

Blue horizons speak
to me in a realistic sense
and create a vastness
as the wind laments.

You may take what you want
but I will ask you to give
me a life course
by which I can live.

Moments pass all the time
under the wings of my worry.
I take in a view and sense
without hurt there is no hurry.

Sight is grounded
as I set my feet.
The earth tempers the sky
as I take my seat.

Very powerful and this has great flow right from the first stanza to the last. I particulary like:

      Blue horizons speak

to me in a realistic sense

      and create a vastnessas

      the wind laments

      Keep it up! :)
