I have Entered The Bewildering Gates of Paradise: Monday's Inspiration 15

Updated on June 26, 2017

Flight and Elegance

A free verse sonnet

They tried to describe You, my Beloved;

To unravel the mysteries of Thy Grace.

‘Though their words were carved in fire;

Their sublimity a flawless exposition,

They still fell short of Thy unfathomable Love.

What are these superlatives to One,

In whose gaze I remain mute?

Why would I wish to speak,

When Thy rings of Saturn,

Imposes their stillness on my tongue?

Ah! You came, my Darling,

When my candle of desires were extinguished.

From within the valley of shadows,

I have entered the bewildering gates of Paradise.

Manatita, the Lantern Carrier. Copyrighted 17th June, 2017.

~ Awakening The Inner Light ~

Wisdom of Sri Chinmoy

"Peace is not the absence of power,

Peace is the presence of love." -Sri Chinmoy

"True humility means giving joy to others." - Sri Chinmoy

Quote from a Yogi

Wisdom of Sri Chinmoy

“For sahaja samadhi, the Supreme's infinite Grace is required. Sahaja samadhi comes only when one has established inseparable oneness with the Supreme, or when one wants to show, on rare occasions, that he is the Supreme. He who has achieved sahaja samadhi and remains in this samadhi, consciously and perfectly manifests God at every second, and is thus the greatest pride of the Transcendental Supreme.” –Sri Chinmoy.

      Thank you, my Sweet.

What we seem to need right now is my prose, though. The two pieces on Love and loving one's enemies. Perhaps you have not got to them - at least one of them - as yet.

We need the prayers that I'm involved with right now in Jamaica, Queens, NY. We need, collectively, like the great Founding Fathers, to permeate the earth consciousness with the Love of God. We need to work with the Divine so the darker forces do not win.

Yes, my poetry is a part of this and so is the prose. You and I, my Sweet, let us continue ... let us continue ... glory be!!

Your poem makes peace seem like a trip upon a slow-moving white fluffy cloud sailing through the sky.

      Indeed Bronwen,

Indeed!! I have a great Teacher. Since meeting him some 35 years ago, I don't think I have taken the credit for anything. It is all God's Grace, we are simply instruments of His.

I thank you wholeheartedly. You understand my poems. Hari om Tat Sat!!

I couldn't vote because there was no "all of the above" choice. Your piece was quite lovely.

Ah, Miz, yes yes. Yesteryear and tomorrow.

My poetry will be remembered in forty years and also in 20, just not so much.

Spiritual poets write like me. Bollywood steals the language for their films and some poets grow up with Bollywood. Me, I feel a very strong urge to create, like Rumi, Hafiz, Kabir, my Teacher ...

I wrote this piece in a very short time. Gratitude ... it is a great observation and quite charming. Nellieanna and others have told me this. It is my forte, but I drift occasionally to please others. Hari Om!!

Manatita, you write with a poetic beauty of yesteryear, a skill that is difficult to repeat in this day and time. Lovely.

There are some things which words cannot describe; while the silence of a mortal in a state of awe and amazement, speaks volumes...

Very tight piece of writing - it says so much with so few words and demonstrates to the audience that we are merely observers in the great universe we are blessed to live in.

      Beautiful work, my brother....

Total peace? Something to aim for, for sure. I'm light-years closer to it now than I was ten years ago, so I'm pleased with the progress.

And peace be with you, my friend

I like Celtic Woman. Thanks for sharing the poem and video too. I agree God is incomprehensible, yet from it comes marvels such as this poem.
