I remember My Mother

Updated on April 6, 2012

yes i remember!

that face so tender

Which never left my heart to render

Which never let me surrender

She was my mother! I remember

My pain was her's

My gain was her's

Yes I remember!

That face so tender

which stood by all my sides

She was my mother! I remember

Savior, is what I saw her as

Paviour, is what I name her as

Tastier, grew the taste of love

Sooner! I moved to her, as close as

Cooler I felt when she cleared my doubts

Calmer I felt when she helped me

Blessed I felt when she wished me luck

Satisfied, I felt when she was with me

Her thoughts were mine

My blood was hers

Down I go on the bed of death

but still I remember

which was so lively

which was so lovely

She was my mother! I remember!!

Oh I see, well I know exactly how you feel Rahul, I have lived away from my parents far away across the deep blue sea...since I was 18, that's 17 years now. Keeping in touch is so important. And I have come to realize that they are in fact always with me, because those we love and care about in fact live with us constantly, in our mind, in our memories, in our heart, everywhere we are they are with us, no matter what physical distance there may be. At least that's how I feel it and I'm at peace with it. Take care.

It's a bond that can never be broken, not even by death. Your poem verbalises that powerful bond and clarifies it's existence. It is a bond to treasure always. Your poetry is explosive in its imagery and depth, Rahul, and is a pure gift to readers. Thank you. My votes and best wishes to you and sharing.
