I wait: A poem

Updated on January 6, 2014

Day and night, I await your forgiveness

My heart weighing me down with every glance

My eyes, hopelessly searching your blank visage

Hoping to find you looking kind, askance

Waiting for you to look at my eyes

To speak in the voice, of which I grew fond

Waiting to treasure your silent smiles

To know the hidden meanings, beyond

I wait, for my heart still belongs to you

Lost like a child in a strange garden

Full of love and happiness and sudden fears

Seeking love that lies beyond his ken

I wait, my own, as I always will

Yet for what, I still do not know

Forgiveness, hope or a solace in sorrow

Waiting for the strength to let go

Waiting, perhaps, to dream once again

That all would be perfect and stilled

That my feelings would rise and ebb

With the velocity that love instilled

Waiting for a chance to hope

That I could be whole in your company

Waiting to forget the past

That took away love from me

It is hard when there is no forgiveness, grace or mercy from another. Beautifully written and powerful.

      Up and more and sharing

      Bless you,

      Faith Reaper

Hi Christy i guess the way to get away from the past is to plunge into a forward direction leaving all dark clouds behind. Looking towards the rainbow "a better life" We have to do the letting go or else the past will keep on haunting us and holding us.
