I will wait for you
I was the last of her kids and the profound love that existed between a Mother and her child was eminent in my relationship with my mother though i was not her favorite child because whatever be the case, there is always a favorite among all but i was simply her pet.
Like Dad who made sure that i lacked nothing, Mom was always there to help me go on, she was like a mentor to me though the Bible says "Discipline your child", Mom found it hard to lay hands on me each time i go wrong.
She had a simple way of making me do the things she wanted me to do.
Remembering that she carried me in her womb and gave me life made me loved my mother more than anyone else.
I vowed to be there for her and though i was still young, i still knew what to buy for her during the mother's day.
She was surprised when she opened the pack and saw an Apron.
O sweet you she said
You are a dove my son
And i will always love you
I will be there for you
And no matter what happens
I will wait for you
Until you become a man
It was the mid hours of the day
Sitting with couple of friends
Waiting for the bell to ring
All my wish was for the day to come
The school long break
They came and told me not to visit
Until school is closed
What an order i thought from them
But young and obedient
I had to comply
Two days more to wait for the break
But my love for you propelled me to leave
How on Earth did she get sick
No i have to go with you to see my Mom
Waiting anxiously for him to get set
Then all of a sudden he had a swollen face
Where did the news come from
A bit confused seeing the gathering
Where is my Mother i asked them all
Wait for us we will be back shortly
I never thought of this because you promised that no matter what happens that you will be there for me,you promised to watch me become a man and hold my hand when i wed my wife, there was nothing you hid from us and you showed us amidst all your trials that you are...
so when it finally dawned on me that you were gone,i cried to God to bring you back.
God bring her back
I know that there is no way my prayer could be answered but i still treasure all the moments spent with you though it was a short fifteen years but you were a sweet mother and that note you left for me before Christmas actually got to me...

My dear son,
I love you and will always watch over you,it is painful but i cannot bear this pain any more but if eventually anything happen to me,always remember that you were my favorite and most loved and that i will wait for you at heaven's gate.
Love,
Mummy.
