I Dreamt Of Her Again (limerick)

Updated on March 23, 2014

My wife came to me in a dream

In wonder and beauty she’d gleam

As arms gently cup

Soon kisses I‘d sup

It’s time to wake up fool she’d scream

This limerick is funny and entertaining, but it's also a little sad, too. Poor man!

HAHAHAHA! I'm not sure if this was supposed to be funny, as I am not sure of your background. But, for me, this is exactly the types of dreams I have about my own fiance'. Usually happens just as she yells at me in real life for over sleeping.

If that is similar for you, I love how it is set up to be so serious but then shifts into that punchline. If this is a poem of loss, my condolences are with you, and you have made a heart wrenching short collection of lines.

      Thank you!
