I Sail In Dreams (poem)

Updated on August 12, 2015

I sail in dreams and paradise is yours

There in our sea of possibilities

With songs of promises amid the shores

While kisses cast a fire to appease

I sail in dreams as stronger winds prevail

Ahead I see a paradise in flames

Inside the cries some secret to unveil

Whose claim on me now shakes our very frames

Your paradise is burning through my dreams

As I hold on to what remains of me

And passion flows amid the streams of screams

I sail into a new reality

My wake from dreams now finds me in my place

Returning gentle smile upon you face

The opening stanza is beautiful and sets the tone perfectly.

Beautiful poem, Martin. I love the ending.

Christopher Cross is the perfect cap to this wonderful piece.
