Updated on February 9, 2012

A book of Poems by Rósa Guðmundsdóttir.

Augun þín og augun mín (your eyes and my eyes)

Hello everybody I haven't done a Hub in a while because of constant homework, but I have some free time and I decided to share an Icelandic poem with the community. this poem has been translated to English by me so the readers can understand it.

English version.

Your eyes and my eyes.

Ó what beautiful stones.

Whats mine is yours and whats yours is mine,

you know what i mean.

Icelandic version.

Augun þín og augun mín.

Ó þá fögru steina.

Mitt er þitt og þitt er mitt,

þú veist hvað ég meina.

This poem was made by Rósa Guðmundsdóttir who was one of the greatest female poets of Iceland. Rósa was born on December 23 1795 and died December 28 1855. Every Icelander knows at least one of her poems.
