No Blue Heavens Can Match the Blue of Baby's Eyes
No Blue Heavens Can Match the Blue of Baby's Eyes

If I could see with baby's eyes

not knowing what they are seeing

I'd let the world come to my size

forever loving and agreeing.

If I could hear with baby's ears

cannons would play lullabies

laughter would come out of tears

truth would be replacing lies.

If I could touch with baby's hands

it could be your face I'd touch

with tiny heart that understands

why I love you all so much.

If I could lay where babies sleep

I'd let it be my very last

and at my final count of sheep

get stuck in a dream of one sweet past.

      Beautiful poem.

      Lovely/enigmatic/innocent just like babies.

Another sweet and loving poem. You captured the innocence of a baby beautifully...

I'm sure the world is a beautiful place, full of wonder, in the eyes of a baby. Everything is new and then we grow old and almost take the beauty for granted. Sometimes I go to the ocean, or pay attention to animals just to remind myself of how beautiful creation is.

Ruby Jean---Many times as I look at people around me, I imagine what they looked like as babies, and I wonder how much of that innocence is buried under those thick layers of stressed out adulthood.
