If It Wasn't For Me Where Would You Be

Updated on October 24, 2013

I Don't Want To Think About It

There are times in persons life that aren't so great

We want to hide them away and forget they ever happened

Denying them does no good

Avoiding them was impossible

We have are weaknesses and our faults

Through years of trouble and experience we do our best

Sometimes our best just isn't good enough

We need help and we need it fast

Well for whatever reason help does arrive

Many times later than we had hoped

In a form we couldn't of Imagined

For me it was my wife

One who seen through all my trouble

The person who I am

I was like a rusty chain left out in the rain

Once oiled and greased and with proper care

I could make this old bike ride like the wind

Friends and other people stood by as I began to have troubles

They did not help because they too might have been going through their own dark night

Maybe they were too busy with their own life or didn't want to get involved

If my path wasn't changed the outcome would not of been good

So lets fast forwarding to a much better time and place

We can let our mind rest

Kick our feet up and get something to eat

I take this time to thank my wife

Who saved my life

She changed my future to what I always wanted

It takes a strong person to stay by ones side

Through the worst of it all

It takes a wonderful love to love the way you do

So to recap and bring my mood from gratitude and respect

To one of enormous strength and energy

Each day may change but I will never forget where I came from

In life we all need a little help

Some more than others

I only hope if you ever find yourself stuck like an engine in between two gears

Grinding away

Someone will come to the rescue

A few still believe of fairytales and talk of a night in shining armor

What they don't say

Are the ones wearing earrings and carrying a pocket book

Are alive and well
