If - My Philosophy

If....

If I had it to do over...

If I could bring back Yesterday...

If I had...

If I hadn't...

If I didn't say what I said...

If I hadn't given so much...

If you'd loved me...

If these reeling thoughts had been realities...

There would be no Regrets.

Therefore -

There's no more room in my Life

for

If...

Just Is.

All I can say, G, is you've put a smile in my heart with your words! Thank you!

BTW, the hands are mine, the bouganvillea is in my front yard and the fingernails are mine! No falseness with this little girl!

i LOVE it!!! Yes so much, you are correct, this is somehow related to what i've been feeling lately. Bougainvilleas are beautiful, i cannot blame my mom though for planting it all over our place..reddish pink, white, orange, mixed colors...

Thanx, unknown! The flowers are bouganvillea in a plant bed at the front of my house. Beautiful, aren't they? I'm glad you liked the poem! Enjoy your day.

If I hadn't given so much..."

I find it interesting that you and I have much the same mindset, Bill. It's actually pretty amazing! And I happen to love your 1500 words! See you again soon!

See, you did it...so succinct, so beautiful in its minimalist approach to a complicated subject...or maybe I just make it complicated and have the need to write 1500 words. :) Great poem and I thank you my dear friend.

Seeker 7: You're spot on! I wrote that poem in 1984 while going thru the changes of self-discovery. If we can't be true to ourselves, all is for naught. We all need to go inside ourselves to seek the answers. Most importantly, we need to recognize when we are creating our own poison and flush it out!

Thanx for your support. I will post more poems....

This is a wonderful poem and so true for all of us.

I think we try to be perfect and when we cannot, we spend so much time wondering why not? We strive for the impossible sometimes and waste time doing so - spending so much of our precious energy on things that we cannot change - we should reflect, yes, but we should spend our energies on learning from it and moving on. As neytridiana says so correctly - 'use that energy for "is".

Hsve bookmarked this as a favourite + voted up beautiful!

You absolutely got my message. And, judging from your response, I got yours! I will be honored for you to link my poem to yours! You are a precious soul!

Abselutely correct, "If" took a lot of energy from us, and makes a lot of pain, drops down our spirit. It is wise to use that energy for "is". Did I get your message? I will link your poem to mine.
