If Today was Your Last

Updated on June 23, 2014

If Today was Your Last

If today was the last, And the world was no more,

Can you say your life was GoOD, Fulfilling and pure?

Did you laugh with your neighbors, And cry with your friends,

Embrace a stranger, Experience beauty with no end?

If today was your last, What would you do,

Live life differently, If only you knew?

Play with your children, A little longer each day,

Remember to take time, To stop and pray?

Hold on tight, To your lover so dear,

Whispering "I love you's", All night in their ear?

If today was your last, Would you want to know,

To prepare for the end, For your inner beauty to show?

To give of yourself, Like never before,

To leave an impression on the world, To last forever more?

Would you say goodbye to your loved ones, Looking deep in their eyes,

Make amends for old quarrels, And for the wrongs... apologize.

If today was your last, Would you be ready to go,

Have you live a filled life, Or do you not really know?

You should live each day, Like it will be your last,

The future is what you make it, But you can't change your past.

If today was my last, And my world was no more,

I could say it was GoOD, Fulfilling and pure.

We should live like today is our last, but do we? Not very often. Maybe not often enough. We need to be prepared for eternity beyond all else. We also want leave behind a legacy for sure with our children. We need to teach them so they are equipped for life and can prepare their children. We have to show them the importance of passing along the real meaning of life: to live for God.
