If, When, and Why (a Haiku)

Updated on December 30, 2015
If we could only change...
If we could only change...
Lives to rearrange...
Lives to rearrange...
Our children, once more to laugh and sing..
Our children, once more to laugh and sing..
To all a better life to bring...
To all a better life to bring...
How much love does it take.......
How much love does it take.......
Our children's lives at stake... much brighter...
Our children's lives at stake... much brighter...

If we could change things,

All terrible wrongs, for good.

Live the best we could.

Again... children smile,

Loving their lives all the while.

Once more laugh...to sing.

Why do we want change,

Restart our lives...rearrange.

All the joy to bring.

Making futures bright,

Sleeping secure, in the night.

Angel's songs to ring.

Stewards, all are we,

Responsible as can be.

All to heaven, wing.

Precious babies, all,

Would that any never fall.

Of each love, we cling.

Make all wrongs, as rights,

This vision, in all our sights.

Reigns above, our king.

Oh, Whonu, this Haiku is truly special. I love it. I missed it four days ago, and so glad I found it this night.

      Peace and blessings always

Right manatita...it is 5-7-5. I choose to rhyme. I guess it is just in me. Thanks for your review my friend. whonu

You are well on the way, Bro. So once more I commend you. Just a tiny correction, with loving kindness. 5-7-5, and not 3-7-3 as mentioned to Dora, and the Japanese used nature and animals a lot:

      "Virgin dawn arises.

      Butterflies dance to the Light.

      A joyful tear drops." -Manatita

Note that they also do not rhyme. Love your inspirations, Bro. Much Love.

Finely constructed expression of wishes and beliefs. Pat yourself on your back and high five the mirror tonight.
